    I dropped an application form to renew my medical exemption card into the surgery on the same day I received the letter from the NHS. The surgery sat on it for over two weeks and now I won’t get the card back in time so I will have to pay for my next prescription and claim the money back. That is lots of extra work for me to do because the surgery didn't act in a reasonable timeframe. I should be able to rely on the surgery to undertake routine admin tasks in a timely manner without me having to keep chasing and checking. The form only need a signature. Terrible service.

    Having received an invitation to book a vaccination appointment by (several) text messages, I immediately followed the links to do so. All failed showing either no appointments available or temporarily available. Only option was to call when after a very lengthy hold I was given an appointment without any problem. Clearly these systems do not work for Central Surgery. Exactly the same issues were experienced some months ago. Pity, if the systems worked they would undoubtedly save a lot of staff time and patient frustration.

    They disconnect the phone so if you need an appt you need to go to the surgery at 8am and wait for it to open to book an appt. If someone is old and live a little bit far that’s annoying to walk down that early to book an appointment. And then the Dr call you anytime during the day and can tell you to come down. This make it more awkward as we don’t have a fixed appointment time. Several times I’ve tried to call but it just disconnected.

    Extremely difficult to get through to the practice. Very difficult to see or speak to a GP (only 3 listed on practice website) No annual medication review for me or a medical review given my chronic illness

    I do feel for the reception staff and doctors at this surgery. Due to inadequate management and systems they cannot provide a service! I called in 2 days in a row at 8am to get an appointment and it just times out. I called later in the day and the receptionist told me to try again at 8am tomorrow! That's the only answer she has... she is not authorised to say or do anything else. Covid has come and gone (which was not an excuse for the private sector by the way!) but it looks like management think this level of service is acceptable.

    Still trying to get through to them now, my phone says i have tried for 57minutes. 230 times i rang and and finally got put on hold for 11 minutes spoke to someone who asked for my details and cut me off.. now on another phone rang 97 times so far. I have a screenshot of the number of times if they deny it.... Awful

    There is no way to contact the surgery. Phones are rarely answered and there is no online communication available. The only way is to drive to the surgery. Even after that, if you do visit in person to arrange a telephone consultation, the GP doesn't ring within the promised timeframe. Several times I’ve waited in all day for a call for it not to happen. This service is not fit for purpose. It’s no wonder people end up going to A&E as an alternative as it’s the only way to doctor. The pandemic ended a long time ago so that cannot be the excuse any more. Why is nothing improving? Why doesn't the surgery have some sort of online communication available? Additionally, I'm meant to have a thyroid test annually. During the last 3 yrs Ive only had one test and that is because I arranged it and pushed for it. What happens to those less able? Do they just get forgotten? I expect so.

    Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you have had difficulty getting through on the telephone. We have listened to patient feedback and we are in the process of upgrading our telephone lines to a new digital cloud based system which will be installed shortly. Unfortunately our current system is analogue and only allows 4 calls to be queued at once so caller number 5 will get an engaged tone. When there is room in the queue you will get a ringing tone but that doesn't ring out in the surgery. We have 2 members of staff at all times answering the 2 telephone lines. Unfortunately our current system will automatically disconnect a call after 9 mins, we have investigated this with the company that provides our lines and there is nothing that can be done on the present system. Once the new system is in place you will be able to put a digital place marker in the queue and get a call back when you are at the front of the queue so this will save patients a lot of time. In the meantime you can come to the surgery in person or send us a message on the Accurx app on our website.     Honestly, I think this practice should be reported for the lack of response and complete disregard for the people they should be helping. It's a complete disgrace considering that we are talking about a health practitioner who should be looking after sick people in time of need. It's practically impossible to speak with them on the phone, it's either engaged or they let it ring for hours without responding. They used to have the ask-gp app at some point, which now they have discontinued. I just realised that it is now almost one year that I tried to see a gp without success (!) I understand that they may have taken too many patients, but my impression is that they absolutely do not care about their patients. Very very sad to see this state of affairs.

    It is nigh on impossible to talk to anyone at this surgery. No one answers the phone even after getting through the engaged tones. I waited for half an hour for someone to be bothered to pick up the phone. Nothing.

  10. Review titled I wish someone would answer the phone!

    Why does no one ever answer the phone at this surgery? It’s not acceptable, especially since the only other method of contact (askmygp) was removed. The only way to get in touch now seems to involve a physical trip to the reception desk. This is not fit for purpose. What is worse is that it has been like this for months and there doesnt seem to be any desire to effect change.
