I rang for an appointment for a flu and Covid jab was told as a clinic on tomorrow I explained that I work weekends with vulnerable people was told to ring back next week so obviously I don’t matter. Can’t be given an appointment for next week to deal with this issue, brilliant

Completely unprofessional receptionist, surgery will only call once for an appointment regardless of whether you live in a rural area and have problems with phone reception. No help at all, just told to call 111. Absolute 🤡🤡

  4. Review titled No appointments

Tried on various occasions to get an appointment in July. Queue either full or when I get through told none available. End up calling NHS 111 who advised me to go to Corby urgent care centre. Two visits there and had a test done at a hospital. Just got results and told to see my GP for treatment of the diagnosed condition. So back to square one….. Maybe it would be best to scrap GP system and just have NHS clinics??? I am now left in discomfort

  5. Review titled Appointments booking system is unacceptable

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by Donna B - Posted on 05 June 2024

I’ve be struggling with chronic pain since dec. My last repeat bloods stated make an appointment to review within 4 weeks. That was 1.5.24 I’ve even had a reminder letter asking me to book by calling at 8,1.30 or online. App never shows appointments Won’t allow to book at reception Called again today at 8 & 8.03 to get the Im sorry the Que is full Finally got in ‘the Que’ at 8.30, feeling postive as no.3 when I finally got to the receptionist there were no bookable appointments. All this process is whilst getting 3 kids ready for school and completing the school run, whilst my attention should be on my children. I was told to call back at 1.30 but I can not as i have a course 12.15-3 I can try again tomorrow between 8-9 but then I am at work in my job no2 in a Care home and won’t be able to make any more calls or try later. Or I can try on again on Friday whilst I commute to Woburn for job number 1 that starts @9.45 but then I’m not back in raunds until 4.30. I can go to Corby for my current flare but they can’t review my bloods This is system is ridiculous This system is not accessible This system is not adaptable

  6. Review titled Lack of accountability

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    by Mrs C - Posted on 11 June 2024

I checked in for my 8am appointment this morning using the self service system and sat down as instructed. At 8:22 am when I hadn't been called I approached reception and I apparently the staff member seeing me wasn't in but I had not been contacted to rearrange nor had the appointment been removed as the system allowed me to check in.??? I was very upset but kept calm but at no time was any apology or empathy offered. I have been a patient at this practice for 28 years and have never felt so irrelevant.

  7. Review titled Impossible to get appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Richard - Posted on 08 May 2024

I have tried on numerous times to book appointments, waiting at 8am calling immediately, none available and the message says to call again, 14 attempts this morning, the website is misleading as the system online appointments do not exist. I have tried to attend reception in person but told to call. Another local GP practice will not accept me as they have too many people wanting to leave the Cottons and will only register new patients from other practices. I therefore feel the service is unsafe and there is no way vulnerable people would be able to be seen. In the end I have found another practice and they offer a ring back system which avoids the frustration and time wasting the Cottons patients suffer trying in vain to make an appointment.

  8. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kirsty - Posted on 10 June 2024

Receptionist was very helpful for both myself and my adult child. On both examples good care and compassion was displayed from receptionist through to GP for myself and paramedic for my child with a follow up appointment made.

  9. Review titled Dreadful

Rated 1 star out of 5

My special educational needs son was told to sit and wait in A&E as the GP refused to submit a referral to the department he needed. A&E is crippled by these situations. I desperately want to move GP's. You can never get an appointment yet when you enter the surgery its empty. The amount of times we have been sent to out of hours during surgery hours is shocking. I would never recommend this surgery to anyone.

  10. Review titled Inadequate service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I was discharged from KGH with changes to heart medication. Unfortunately despite 3 phone calls and an email I was unsuccessful in getting changes made to repeat prescription resulting in medication shortage. Problem now resolved via Papworth hospital.

Thank you for your feedback, we apologise we are trying our very best to keep up with the demand. The ICB has agreed that it is for secondary and community care providers (including for discharges, outpatient appointments, and emergency departments) to prescribe sufficient medication until the GP has had time to receive and process appropriate communications and to assess the patient where necessary, which in most scenarios will be 28 days.
