Tried to get appointment right on eight queue full. Went down to surgery receptionist totally disinterested and absorbed with her false eyelashes. Got appointment 12 days Head not good enough

The receptionists at this practise are very rude and unhelpful. I have called numerous times to get an appointment for a lump that I have found, 5 weeks ago. I am unable to get an appointment. I have also checked online, every single day for 5 weeks, again no appointments. I called 4 weeks ago, the woman I spoke to was very rude and condescending. This is quite a stressful situation for me but I received no compassion, in fact she responded ‘it is what it is’. Today, I was on the phone for 35 minutes waiting to speak to someone (I understand this is of no fault of anyway and the NHS is really struggling) however, when the receptionist answered, again she was very rude. I wasn’t away of the medical terminology - ‘acute’ she was very blunt and rude and stated it was emergency and I needed to wait till Tuesday to make another appointment. Again, I understand the NHS is under a lot of pressure but I do not use the NHS regularly or come to the DR’s a lot, I do not like to complain. But I am appalled with the lack of compassion that these receptionists have, at a DRS surgery. Training clearly needs to be provided here on how to communicate with patients. It worry’s for me for the patients that are in a much worse position than me.

My wife had recently been diagnosed with cancer, she needs to see a doctor on another matter. She has now been waiting on the phone for 1 hour to try and get an appointment, which may not even happen as all this surgery seems to want to do is give you triage appointments. Awfull and upsetting experience

Thank you for sharing you're experience. Please contact myself Samuel Adams the Practice Manager so I can look into this for you're wife. Looking at our call stats from yesterday, it does say our wait time was a maximum of 33 minutes, so I also need to check if this is correct. All patients in all practices are asked nature of problem if 'acute' or 'routine' to book into the correct clinic and all appointments are face to face unless a patient asks for a phone call. Never responded to requests for follow up phone calls after blood test results, these were promised from Reception and Test results. Received no explanation of my test results and no follow up from doctor?

Rang to get emergency appointment, connected within 5 seconds of the clock turning 1.30 to be told all appointments gone (how do they know everyone else on phone wanted appointment) Spoke to 111 who then contacted drs, drs said they would arrange for me to be seen, I hadn’t heard anything by 6pm, rang drs, and was basically laughed at that 111 would have contacted them because they only have 4 slots and when I asked how all appointments had gone within 5 seconds, was told in a very angry voice it was because they have 10,000 patients, I didn’t raise my voice, I just wanted to know how that was possible and didn’t appreciate being spoke to in that way. Anyway rang 111 back and they got my file and double checked and confirmed everything had been sent through to the cottons. (Someone was lying). In the end 111 had to arrange for myself to see a gp late in the evening to obtain some anti biotics which due to low immune system was very important. I know the dr,s are flooded with patients, but certain admin members need improvement on there people skills and getting their paperwork in order, the last lot of paperwork I gave them had to give it to them 3 times and they make out your lying. It’s frightening especially now I have a rare illness that I have to rely on these people to help keep me alive.

Worst doctors I’ve ever been too, my daughter is 2 and has autism and is non verbal, so she can’t tell us what’s wrong, so getting a doctors appointment is vital so we can help my little girl, I rang for 3 days for on 0800 and 1330, as she’s had a lot of problems with her chest since she was born and can never get any appointments, had to ring 111 just to get an appointment at the cottons, this week I’ve had to do the same, called 111 for an appointment but had a phone appointment instead from the cottons, they said 14:50, it’s now 10:30am the next day and I’m still waiting for that call after being promised it was going to be last night, it’s actually ridiculous now, they need to be re-managed and sorted out
