    Cannot get a face to face appointment, but offered a phone call from a doctor again. Condition has deteriorated since the call with a doctor last week and I feel a face to face appointment is required and the opportunity to examine the issue directly, in order to inform treatment. Being fobbed off with 'take some Ibuprofen' last week has delayed things and the condition has got worse. I was told that for a face to face appointment I have to be 'triaged' by a doctor over the phone, who will then arrange an appointment if they feel one is necessary? Alternatively it is a 10 day wait to pre-book. This approach builds in unnecessary delays and I don't feel like I am being listened to, but rather part of a fixed process designed for their benefit (not mine). I feel extremely let down by this surgery and worry that if I were seriously ill in the future, I would not receive the timely support or care I need.

    Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns and post your feedback. I am sorry that you were disappointed with the service you received from the practice. Whilst a majority of our GP appointments are telephone triage, followed by a face-to-face appointment where necessary, we have now started to offer a percentage of pre-bookable appointments (up to 10 days) for various appointments such as: telephone, face to face, medication reviews. We are also now offering extended hours later in the evenings and on a Saturday It is extremely difficult to investigate the issues raised when posts are anonymous so I would encourage you to contact the practice at feedback.deepingspractice@nhs.net so that we can personally look into your feedback.     I was recently off work for a few weeks and after reading several negative comments about Market Deeping health centre i have to say i found the reception staff very helpful at a time when they were under much pressure following the system changes. They dealt with me with efficiency and good humour, and they set in place phone consultations with two different doctors, who both displayed a professional, caring and charming attitude. I am back at work full time following a short phased return agreed between the the doctors and my occupational health department and I would like to express my sincere thanks to all concerned.     Unfortunately since having covid in January I have experienced some new health conditions. I have had to contact the GP on a number of occasions for support. I don’t know if it is me, but I’ve largely been treated with what feels like contempt. I often feel I am spoken to as if I am a bit mad. As a nurse of 20 years, I can honestly say I would never dream of some of the comments I have experienced, it seems as though they don’t want to see you, treat you or listen to you. The odd exception, a very good female GP and a nurse, plus reception team are lovely. But there is no compassion at the heart of this surgery. It does not aim to treat individuals, just get through calls and fob people off. We are moving GPS which is a real faff but it is honestly so so poor.

    I called up reception wanting to book an appointment, I originally started by calling at 4:43 and got through at 5:10 which I thought was great. But unfortunately when I picked up the phone the receptionist couldn’t seem to hear me. I could hear myself over the other side of the phone and I could also hear them very well no breaks in the call. I am now phoning up again on my mums phone to try and get an appointment and we have been waiting for 23 minutes going from 7-5. I understand the new system is being used but the receptionist hung up on me with no explanation that the system might be messing up the lines, I have now read your website but I am left rather frustrated.

    Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you have experienced problems when trying to obtain an appointment. We have recently recruited more administrative staff, receptionists and Locum GP's to help with the demand and we are continually reviewing our appointment system. We offer a same day appointment service as well as pre-bookable appointments. Once we are at capacity for same day appointments, we direct our patients to 111 as per protocol.     I booked a telephone call, as no face to face appointments were available. The call had a specific 2 hour time window, so I cleared my diary to be free at this time. I missed a call 1 hour before the time window, with a message to call and rearrange if I needed the appointment. I see on my patient record this goes against me, as a missed appointment. If I arrived at the surgery one hour early, it’s unlikely I would be seen, so why is the call service different? This service is supposed to support patient care, it’s hopeless. Trying to see my named Doctor is almost impossible. This practice needs to wake up to patient needs. We have no choice in this area to change to another clinic, as this is a monopoly.

Our main morning and afternoon clinics are in a 3-4 hour window, however, we will always note requests for patients of times they wish to be called.     I received a text advising me that a further Covid booster and flu vaccination were available. I was able to book an appointment online and 3 days later had the treatments at the time booked. At all times the staff I met were extremely pleasant and efficient. Thank you.

    Thank you to the dispensary and doctors for their timely assistance while I was away. Having realised I was short of a couple of prescription items it only took 3 hours for the practice to issue and approve an electroic prescription to a nearby chemists ready for me to pick up. Thank you again.

    This practice blames recent system upgrades as reason for their complete melt down. Are upgrades not supposed to improve customer experience. This practice is inept in both managing system upgrades and to boot managing client health. I shall be seeking a different practice.

We can confirm we migrated to a new improved clinical system in September 2022, and whilst advice was sought and acted upon to cause the least disruption to patients, regrettably we encountered many unforeseen problems.
