I had been on a waiting list for a few weeks to speak with my own Dr but then unexpectedly had a call today offering me a telephone consultation with a different Dr within the next couple of hours..I received the call within half an hour..the doctor was very friendly and polite, explained everything thoroughly and has referred me for x-rays and further investigations. Thankyou to the kind receptionist who phoned me and the doctor for being so thorough.

A massive thank you to the ANP who saw me today for her fantastic help, care and attention over the last couple of weeks. She arranged an emergency appointment for me as symptoms hadn't improved and I finally got an answer.

  4. Review titled Extremely quick response

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have to say that I could not fault the response time to my query. I filled out a questionnaire and sent in photos (as requested) and had a rapid response from the surgery and then a telephone conversation with a GP.

  5. Review titled Great practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been so well looked after the deeping practice. Even though its quite stressful at times that's not their fault it's mine. My health out of my control and they are doing all that they can to look after me. I don't deserve it But with all that's going on in the world. The staff are cheerful and as helpful as ever. The dispensary team when you put in repeat prescription it's completed within the time scale they state. The drs who ring to talk aboit my health they actually appear to be listening. So kerp up thre good work. Thank you deepings practise.

  8. Review titled A caring practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ray Srodzinski ¾ - Posted on 15 July 2024

I have been massively impressed by the comprehensive care and attention I have received from the staff at the Deepings Practice, particularly that of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner who has recently procured gastroscopy and endoscopy procedures for me within days of my first appointment. I was extremely anxious about my condition and the possibility of contracting cancer; the opportunity to allay those concerns almost immediately through the vital biopsies is something I appreciate greatly. The lady in question has followed up our meetings and the treatment I have received by solicitous communications via text and phonecalls. In short, she has demonstrated outstanding professional care and reduced my anxiety significantly. Thank you Deeping Practice.

Phone call consultation was very positive and didn’t have to wait too long to speak to someone. They listened to what I needed and gave good advice.

  10. Review titled Shocking lack of care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 June 2024

My small child is currently in hospital with pneumonia. She has lost a lot of weight, had a lot of time off school and is extremely unwell. This could have been avoided if we'd received the correct support via a face to face GP appointment when I first accessed support for her, which would've picked up on her severe chest infection, listlessness, pallor, fatigue and hacking cough. Initially when I first called the practice I had missed the emergency appointments. I was then asked to complete a text message assessment in case the on call doctor had time to call me. I received a blunt text message, one sentence informing me that this case could be assessed by 'Pharmacy First'. I received a call from a pharmacist (really?), answered a few questions, then told to pick up a prescription for penicillin. My child was not seen, her chest not listened to or her presentation assessed. She started the antibiotics but three days later her condition had deteriorated. I called again and was told again there were no appointments and to go to the Urgent Care Centre. I did this, waited for hours with my very poorly child, they assessed her, she had a chest infection and was given a stronger dose of amoxicillin, which they said is usually prescribed over penicillin as it covers more infections. After the course she was no better. I called the practice again at exactly 8am, the lines were engaged, I managed to get through to the queue, only to be cut off after 30 minutes from their end, I called again, got through to the queue, waited ages, all appointments gone, was told to call 111. I did this, 111 sent me back with a referral sent separately them for me to speak to a doctor within an hour because my daughter had chest pains and was breathless. When I called the practice they said they were at capacity and that there was no one to speak to. Finally I took my child to A&E and she is now in HDU on all sorts of treatments including oxygen and steroids. I am disgusted by the policies at this practice, which seem to involve delegating cases on to other health departments so that they don't have to deal with them. There is very little care or concern shown. This week I really considered what the point of registering at a practice is, when one spends hours telephoning but can never access an appointment! What happened to the old system? That seemed to work fine; some appointments were released at 8am, a few emergency appointments were kept aside for the on call doctor, and the triage system worked well. Since COVID everything has changed, they seem to have kept the system they adopted then because of social distancing etc, but I don't understand what has changed at the practice to warrant this. Are there fewer GPs? Fewer appointments? Where do the appointments go? You can never ever get one, not even for an extremely unwell small child! There is no extra provision, some people get ill during the day too, appointments released at 8am are irrelevant!
