    I attended this practice for a minor surgical procedure as part of the Community Surgery Service. Everything about my experience at this surgery was excellent from the initial contact to organise my surgery to the parking to the reception staff, from the waiting area to the amazing surgical staff. I was made to feel welcome, treated as an individual, treated with respect and received a service that could not have been bettered in any way. Sadly I’m not able to register, as a patient, with this practice as I live out of their catchment area. However, many other GP practices could learn a lot of lessons and provide a vastly improved patient experience if they ran their services in a similar manner to the Deepings Practice. The service I received at this practice really highlighted the many shortcomings of my own GP service, the most noticeable being the total lack of patient care and respect at my practice. I hope all patients registered with the Deepings Practice appreciate the service, care, excellent staff and facilities that are provided for them. Many of us in Peterborough have to accept a far inferior GP service, both in care, services and respect, all run by anonymous telephone call staff. Thank you again for an excellent service and experience, the people of the Deepings are very, very lucky to have access to such a wonderful health service.

    Very rare you can get any kind of appointment, nothing available via nhs app. Not even telephone appointments in the next 16 weeks. When you do get a telephone appointment they rarely call within the time stated. Awful service

We are working to the new GP Contract and we aim to call patients who are requesting a routine appointment within 2 weeks. We also have a number of same day appointments that we can offer to patients who require an urgent appointment.     Apprehensive about seeing GP after so long, had palpitations waiting, but hearing receptionist being kind and helpful to patients was a good sign. GP himself was attentive and did not hurry me, came out feeling better. At reception made a scan appointment, covid and flu appointment, the lady did not rush me and I had excellent service.

    My son phone to speak to a doctor, and was told someone would contact him within 2 weeks to make an appointment. He has heard nothing and it is now over 2 weeks. He asked me to phone and chase for him, as he cannot phone from work & had to take a day off to make the last call. I have phoned and found the receptionist completely unhelpful. I am sure if the Surgery was more helpful, people would have a better attitude towards them. Surely no-one of any age should be made to wait this long to speak to a Doctor.

I am sorry you found our receptionists unhelpful, however they are not permitted to divulge any patient information to a person without the patients permission, which we did not have on record.     Had appointment by gp cancelled by telephone by receptionists due to unforeseen circumstances new appnt 2 weeks time on 16th .All l need is the results of my X-ray in left hand ,which came back abnormal, .The impression l get is that doctors don’t want to see their patients .The service to clients is getting worse not better .This needs to improve as patients health& well being is being put at significant risk .

Regrettably, due to unforeseen circumstances appointments may sometimes need to be rescheduled, however, please do be advised that if we have urgent results to discuss with patients this will be done as a priority. I would also like to confirm all clinicians do offer face to face clinics as well as their telephone triage clinics.     I had an ECG with a practice nurse in July and can only say the experience from start to finish was conducted in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.     Can I please give a huge thank you to the practice reception supervisor and the afternoon on call receptionist for the help and assistance given to me yesterday (4 July 2023) by arranging a telephone and face to face appointment with the on call Doctor that afternoon. I had completely misunderstood and wrongly interpreted the way the appointments system worked and consequently needed guidance in respect of future appointments I had made. This came by way of the reception staff above who politely and diligently came to my rescue and sorted everything out professionally, quickly and without fuss. Thank you for your time, patience and understanding. It was so much appreciated.

    Firstly I would like to mention that I needed a phone call to get a face to face appointment, I thought the NHS could not afford to waste money. The Doctor who I did see did not listen to me when I told them that I took Buscapan they said I can see not telling me if it was safe to mix with they wrongly prescribed. Medication came in a box with no instructions. This has left me feeling stressed and very unsettled and quite worried about health. As a person with a communication disorder this lead to me feeling slightly misdiagnosed.

    I knew I had a kidney infection and that I just needed a urine test to confirm and antibiotics. I did what I was meant to do and ring up at 8am in the morning to get an appointment for the same day, but by the time I got through they were all gone. I tried again the following day and the same thing happened. I completed the 111 online and they said I needed to contact the GP immediately. I did so at around 2pm to which I was told that there were no appointments left so I needed to ring back the next morning or go to UTC. I had to wait for 2 hours to see a GP in UTC because my own wouldn’t see me

    Dear Patient. Thank you for taking the time to review our practice. In May 2023, the practice needed to alter the appointments system in line with changes to the core GP contract, this resulted in an increase of routine appointments being offered and being booked in the future, but less on the day capacity to offer patients. This was advertised to patients quite extensively. When a patient contacts the practice for a non-urgent routine appointment, we aim to book this appointment within 14 days. If the patient is requesting a specific GP, or a specific day / time, there can be a longer wait for this appointment. This will be at the discretion of the patient if they wish to wait or accept an earlier appointment with a different clinician or on a different day. We also do keep a measure of same day, urgent appointments back each day for patients with more urgent problems, but as you can imagine these fill up quickly, and once we are at capacity with no further on the day appointments to offer, we would signpost patients to the most suitable service based on their symptoms and the urgency they feel they need to be seen. NHS111, urgent treatment centres, minor injuries are services in place for these patients, a pharmacy may also be able to help patients. If a patient refuses one of these services, then we would offer a routine appointment. Patients can request book appointments via a telephone call, online access and we welcome patients to come to the practice in person to request an appointment if they wish. We understand that this response may not alleviate the frustration and inconvenience you have experienced , I do hope it has reassured you to the different options available for patients to book appointments, and the anticipated wait times, and signposting we may have to do.
