  1. Review titled Excellent appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Catherine - Posted on 08 June 2024

I do not visit my GP Surgery very often, but I was very impressed with how it was run. My appointment was at 11am & I was a little early. I signed in & sat down. Within a few minutes I was called to see the GP and was out and back home by 11.10! The GP was very polite & courteous. No complaints whatsoever.

  2. Review titled Unreasonably long waiting period

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Fartown - Posted on 20 June 2024

I would like point out the long waiting to book appointment to see the GP. I think 6 weeks is very unreasonable time to wait to see my GP. My wife has a serious problem with the left side of her body. That’s why she needs to see the doctor for advice

  3. Review titled Kind and caring staff and Doctors

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michelle - Posted on 06 June 2024

Please can I thank the reception and telephone staff on my recent visit for help on 3/6/24. I felt they were kind caring and understood I needed help and medical advice. The GP I saw was great too and has also kindly booked a follow up to help with some of my ongoing medical issues. I appreciate all your hard work, thank you.

  4. Review titled Cancelled appointment and “lost in the system”

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 June 2024

I had an appointment on 3rd May with a mental health nurse and was told a follow up appointment would be booked in 4-6 weeks and was prescribed 30 days of medication - that time passed and no contact was made - I had to go through about 5 different people so that someone could order another prescription and an appointment for booked for 5th June. On the morning of 5th I got a message to say this was cancelled - so I called again and rearranged for 18th June - this was then cancelled on 13th June. No matter how many times I called and explained the situation and that I couldn’t just stop my medication, I felt no one actually cared. The only person that ever seemed bothered was the pharmacist. So it’s 13th June and at this point I still hadn’t spoke to another mental health nurse and was left on antidepressants which weren’t on repeat prescription so still having to chase up any follow up. I called and explained the urgency to someone at The Grange and after I got upset they managed to book an appointment “that just popped up” for the afternoon, I asked for afternoon as I was out celebrating my sons birthday and I didn’t want to take that type of call in the middle of a meal. I was called earlier than planned so had to step out of the meal but regardless I was just happy someone had actually called me. Another prescription was ordered and a promise of a call back on 4th July. I think the lack of understanding or empathy about how damaging this type of scenario can be for someone with depression is unbelievable and something that really needs to be worked on. If I hadn’t have chased this up myself, my prescription would have run out and I would have been off my medication instantly - I genuinely don’t think that if this had happened that anyone would have been in touch with me - the doctors and nurses are the professionals and are supposed to care for their patients and I feel like if I hadn’t have followed up on this myself I would have been left in the dark and probably more ill due to withdrawal.

  5. Review titled Very disappointed

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Cristiana Tudini - Posted on 05 June 2024

Rang this morning as my 5 years old was not well, I was told by reception no face to face or telephone appointment for the next two weeks. This is not acceptable, a surgery should always have emergency slots or book on the day. I am considering moving to a better practice where the look after patients. Not recommended

  6. Review titled Find an alternative

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 June 2024

Impossible to speak to a doctor, let alone see one. They will do all they can to put you off, sending text messages as a last resort, putting you on medication without even a telephone consultation. Finally got an appointment (after literally trying for months) only for them to cancel two hours beforehand. The tactic is so make you give up and stop bothering them. It's an area of high social deprivation and the doctors are not interested

  7. Review titled Very limited time.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Recently saw GP regarding weight loss. Fast tracked to local hospital for GI investigation. No time to dicuss options regarding limitation of investigation/ treatment. Not GP's fault, only 10 mins for consultation.

  8. Review titled Disrespectful Reception Staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 May 2024

I phoned up this morning and made it through to a very rude member of reception. She spoke over me, belittled me, and didn’t even let me finish what I was saying before she told me I should have phoned first thing this morning as they had ‘no appointments left’ (despite my call being very early this morning). I barely managed to tell her what the problem was because she was so busy talking over me and repeating that there were no appointments for two weeks and I would have to phone back on Monday. She clearly wasn’t listening to a word I said and repeated back incorrect information that I then had to correct all while trying to explain symptoms. It made for a distressing, stressful phone call. A very unprofessional woman with a complete lack of compassion and clearly a complete lack of training. Reception staff at a GP should be empathetic. This GP has sadly gone very far downhill. My family have been at this practice since 1984 and are saddened by the ‘changes’ that have been made. The reception staff used to be lovely. I am very disappointed.

Did not have to wait for a long time to be seen when I got the appointment but had to wait a long time for a call back two weeks which I thought was a long time nothing more to say

Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to leave this positive review. I am sorry you felt the 2 week wait for your appointment was too long. Although we are trying to see people within 3 days, we are fully compliant with national guidance and expectation for all patients to be seen in General Practice within 2 weeks. Kind regards DS
