  1. Review titled Final straw

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 April 2025

I have not requested an appointment for years but, due to a worrying personal issue, I called today. Number 20 in the queue, I hung on as I was feeling so worried. Finally answered and was asked numerous very personal questions that went way beyond a general description of my problem, which was embarrassing enough. I answered all questions nevertheless. The Receptionist's manner was cold and defensive from the start. I was put on hold and then told to go to a pharmacist. I explained that I felt I needed an internal examination by a Doctor, or even a nurse. The Receptionist sighed and put me back on hold before coming back to me saying that his Supervisor requested that I adhere to the 'Triage procedure' which is pharmacist first. Upset and frustrated, I asked 'What is the world coming to?!'..... The Receptionist then said 'Ah, I'm putting the phone d....' and the line went dead. This practise has been awful for years. I have now left and registered elsewhere - I should have done so a long time ago as recommended by many others who have had to do the same. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This has been an upsetting, humilating, and utterly frustrating experience. I cannot recommend this surgery any less.

  2. Review titled Awful

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 April 2025

I tried to make an appointment as requested by calling on the day. I was told to call back the next day and try again. I was caller 6 in the queue! Apart from that they offered an econsult when this is something that needs to be seen by a doctor. The system is broken and I have no idea what I pay NI for anymore when I can’t even see a doctor. It seems they want your problem to become as bad as possible before they will see you - it’s almost like they want you Ill. So, I have serious symptoms that are affecting my life and I can’t even get seen.

  3. Review titled Excellent care navigating

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 April 2025

Having had difficulty in the past getting an appointment, my recent experience has been very positive. I have seen a GP three times in the past 3 weeks because of a wound infection. I think that care navigators have assessed the urgency well. Today as things had worsened and I explained this, I got to see a GP on the day I called.

  4. Review titled Communication issues

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Virginia Yvonne Lewis - Posted on 07 April 2025

Kiltearn was ‘closed for staff training ring back tomorrow’ on Friday and unreachable today as I was on hold for 1.5 hours. Said ‘you are first in the queue’. Will only give the option of a callback if there are more than ten people in the queue apparently. Even though I was first in the queue from the outset of my 9:02am call. Communications issues with this practice have been continual for the eighteen years I have been registered as a patient. It is getting worse and today’s experience was typical.

  5. Review titled Repeat Prescriptions

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Alan Fairless - Posted on 11 February 2025

Why does it take six days to get a repeat prescription signed? I requested by NHS App last Wednesday and am still waiting the following Tuesday. I shall now run out of my medication before I can obtain more. Typical of this practice.

  6. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the practice today to see the nurse. I’m very happy with the consultation , she was thorough and gave me the time I needed. I returned to reception to make another appointment. The person I saw was most accommodating. Thank you all.

  7. Review titled Poor and disappointing service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 February 2025

I missed a telephone consultation because, despite being next to it, my phone did not ring. I immediately called the practice when seeing ‘missed call’ and, after waiting in a queue, spoke to a receptionist who refused to acknowledge my problem stating I had been phoned twice - this was wrong -and also refused my request to speak to the practitioner or a member of staff. My notes state to call me on a landline because my mobile reception is so poor. Sadly the receptionist I dealt with did not seem to appreciate that people phoning the practice are usually unwell and therefore anxious and thus refused to acknowledge my request. I should have thought that these skills are necessary to provide, at the very least, a reasonable service. Very disappointed.

  8. Review titled Amazing service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Glyn Mellor - Posted on 13 January 2025

Today I had an appointment with the physio which was very informative, I then saw the nurse practitioner who referred me to the sister. I don’t think this service can be bettered. Well done and thank you so much

Rated 1 star out of 5

Waited in a long cue to make an appointment for my daughter for the to ring her and cancel the appointment to send her to a pharmacist who can't help with the enquiry unfortunately this has happened more than once it's hard enough to get an appointment for them to cancel it instead of honoring them

  10. Review titled Getting Worse

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 December 2024

The practice received a letter from The Royal Liverpool asking them to take another look at my sons bloods results and to issue a prescription for Iron tablets, it's taken two weeks for the letter to go into an Admin Slot (whatever that means?) Considering my son is seriously ill with Chronic Pancreatitis and is due to have major surgery next year the attention to his medicals needs are slow. I know of two people now who have been told that their blood results are ok when indeed they weren't.
