Review titled Unkind and lack of compassion
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 May 2024
my 92 year old mother was sufferring from a reoccurrence of her sadly regular urinary tract infection and the emergency antibiotics which had been agreed with the GP was left off her last prescription. She visited the practice personally as she couldn't get through on the phone and was left with the impression that the receptionist thought she was overreacting and potentially lying about her condition.... being polite costs nothing. Some more compassion for our elderly would be most appreciated. Hopefully this wont develop into sepsis or a vist to A&E

Review titled Friendly and Efficient Practice.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Angela Kenworthy - Posted on 21 May 2024
The GP I saw today has been looking after my family for many years now and I trust her totally. Today’s appointment was ahead of time but she always allows enough time to listen & discuss my issues. The checking in system on arrival is good and seemingly effective. I was early but only waited for a couple of minutes before I was called.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear that you have been struggling to order your medication. From your feedback it sounds like this is an app issue, if you would like to bring the device you use your app on into the Surgery one of our receptionists will gladly take a look to see if they can resolve this. Review titled Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 May 2024
Had a planned face to face GP appointment cancelled by the surgery told to call the surgery to rearrange. They were unable to book me an appointment ahead of time as I was going away for 2 weeks. Told me to call again when I got back. Called today and was told there are no pressure bookable appointments available even though the surgery themselves had cancelled my appointment.

Review titled The worse service and care for patients
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 May 2024
I have never experienced worse service or care from anywhere in my whole life! You can never get an appointment with either a doctor or nurse and the receptionists answer the phone as though you are an inconvenience. Trying to get an appointment is impossible. I sent photos over of my illness to be told I needed to go in and see the doctor. When I rang there were no appointments available even though it was them telling me to see someone. I basically had to beg to see someone so they eventually got me an appointment with the nurse. She was unsure of my symptoms so went to ask a doctor who was next door. They couldn't be bothered to even come out of their room to see me and fobbed me off with going to the pharmacist. One month later I still have the same issue and still can't see anyone. Whatever you do, do not sign up to this doctor's. They are the worst I have ever encountered. I know the system is broken but they make it worse than others. I am registering with another doctor's today.

Phoned in at 8am, there were more than 30 calls in front of me so I used the callback feature, got a call back within the hour and an appointment for early afternoon........no hassel, stress or anything, just a very polite lady on the phone (as always). What more could you want?

We can look further into this concern with more details, should you wish to please contact us at kiltearn.reception@nhs.net In relation to our appointments, specifically routine, they are released over a 2 week period at different times (3 days before, 7 days before, 14 days before etc) these are released to the receptionists at the start of every day. Our on the day appointments are for acute problems only and they are available at the start of each day too. Without more details I can only presume that you managed to get a cancelled appointment. Review titled Not a good practice
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Eleanor Young - Posted on 19 February 2024
I've had the Tonsillitis for 3 weeks now. It started to go and then came back again this time feeling a lot worse hot and cold and very sore throat. I rand the doctor this morning with 30 in front of me so had a ring back. Rang me back I told her how I felt and that I had had it for 3 weeks. I did ask her for antibiotics but she said pop down to Boots chemist in the town and they will sort something out, which would not be antibiotics. I feel rubish and can hardly walk never mind pop down to Boots. Dreadful practice. It's a terrible state of affairs when you can't even get sorted at your own doctors at the age of 75. Awful place.

Dear Mrs Young, Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear of your bad experience recently. Our receptionists are trained care navigators to navigate you to the quickest and most appropriate clinician or care giver. In January 2024, the NHS released "Pharmacy First" where patients can go to instead of the GP for 7 ailments, including sore throats, where antibiotics can be prescribed by the Pharmacist for you. This is why our receptionist signposted you to the Pharmacy. We hope this helps and should you wish to discuss it further please contact the surgery to do so. Kind Regards Kiltearn Medical Centre
