I also tried for 20mins to navigate my way through the questions. I was referred back to reception for a serious matter. But reception would not make an appointment without the econsult form. In the end I lied about my symptoms to get the system to accept me. I think econsult is dangerous for patients

Have had a fever for 5 days. I called the GP surgery at 8:00 asking for a GP appointment. I was told the GP will call in the morning but I needed to fill out the econsult form online after the phone call ended. I attempted to complete the form but when it asked about having a fever, or body pain, or chest pain, you can’t answer yes or no, it tells you to seek medical help somewhere else? I had already called to ask for a GP appointment so this is confusing. At 18:22 there is still no call from the GP. I still have a fever and am very unwell and scared. Feels like a very unsafe situation.

I’m sorry to hear of your recent experience at the Lawson Practice. We are trialling a new system in order to stop people waiting on the phones for a long time to get through. We are also hoping using the consultation form will help us triage what people need so we can allocate appropriate appointments. Your experience is something we do not want to repeat however. For urgent problems, like being acutely unwell, calling the practice is still the preferred option to get an appointment. The consultation form has safety features built in and certain symptoms will trigger it to ask the user to call the practice or 111. I will take your feedback to our partners meeting for further discussion and make sure our patient navigators are all aware of when to ask someone to complete a form and when not to. If you have any ongoing symptoms, please contact the surgery and we will address them. For any future routine problems, the online consultation form will likely be your simplest way of accessing appointments. They are triaged by a GP within the same morning or afternoon as coming into the practice and a patient navigator will contact you to arrange the outcome of that clinical decision.
