  2. Review titled Frustrating lack of communication and poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sonia Hussain - Posted on 24 June 2024

I had a query about my bone health as I am a 72 yr old woman who has had 2 minor fractures in the last 5 months and was told after x ray that I had 'thinning bones'. As a vegan I wanted diet and lifestyle advice to prevent further deterioration. I first requested this at end of May. A GP (not mine) called and said they'd book me for a dexa scan, and once result was known then they would discuss further. Original appt in July but I was able to change it to 6th June. At appt I was advised GP would get result in a week. Approx 10 days after I called and was told no result. On 19th I sent an email asking about it. On 21st I called again and had to complete a form which promised a callback in 24 hrs. Called again today (24th) and was told no email or form from me had been received. Dexa scan result was sent to the Gp on 11th June. I asked why no-one had been in touch and was told rudely that it was up to patients to call for results! I asked if I could speak to someone and was told no, but another receptionist would call me back. Meanwhile in the NHS records which GP's should complete there is no mention of the dexa scan or result. Beyond frustrating! I am trying to take preventative action and feel as if I'm being obstructed

  3. Review titled excellent service and best ever doctor I have ever met

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by M.T. - Posted on 26 May 2024

reception staff was very helpful as he even held the lift door open for me as I have mobility issues and doctor was such a nice person and very helpful, very kind and considerate. This was the first time I attended this surgery as my previous GP had recently retired and closed and had to register with another GP and I was really pleased to have been seen by this very, kind, professional and very helpful lady doctor, she was in no hurry and she spent more than one hour listening to all my issues, they are great bunch of peoples, real kind and considerate, professional and passionate humans and would recommend them anytime.

  4. Review titled Extremely poor admin team

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 May 2024

Really poor experience by the admin team that botches up simple tasks and needs to be reminded to correct important steps. I am happy to give them the benefit of doubt, but not three of those. Especially when the admin team is to effectively take care of your further care and health improvement. Further, there would be a telephone appointment when the doctor would not call me and after enquiring via email, I would get no response (as is usually the case with the Practice). Please consider signing up elsewhere if you can.

  5. Review titled Too many mistakes by reception/admin staff

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by A.K. - Posted on 03 April 2024

I am not myself a patient at this GP surgery but my disabled friend, whom I am looking after, is registered there. Mistakes caused by reception/admin staff are not rare. I don’t know if it’s the new system or incompetence of some staff or both causing it. For example, if a GP orders a blood test to be done for my disabled friend, and I tried to book a blood test appointment, but reception staff said they can’t see anything on the system that a blood test is due, I have to say there is something very wrong. Finally my disabled friend received a call today from a senior reception staff saying that a blood test actually needs to be done, but she could not explain why another staff could not see it on the system. This is only one example, there were also other errors and/or mistakes in the past. I have to say the new system is also more time-consuming and confusing. Nothing straightforward with it.

  7. Review titled Smear Test and choice of speculum

    by Ninsd95 - Posted on 22 January 2024

The staff member was performing a smear test and the speculum they used scratched all my insides, I was in pain so asked them to remove it. I asked to have look at the size of it and it was huge, something that should be used on women that have had children. Not all women! It was fair to big for me - I would like to be given a choice of size and the option of plastic or metal. Re Booked an appointment for today and had the choice of a smaller one as I’d asked and explained what happened. The smear test was done painlessly. We should have the choice of the size - I’m being told the larger one is being used as standard. This is not on at all, it’s far too large for certain people and needs to be changed.

  8. Review titled Caused a lot of inconvenience

    by Mjn175 - Posted on 01 December 2023

Arrived 15 minutes early and was told incorrectly I was in the wrong place. I then had to come back, having gone to another practice and been turned away there, wasting time walking to and fro. I was then bluntly told to wait upstairs with no specific instructions of where to go, of when I would be seen or by whom. I waited for 40 minutes without being called, and then went downstairs to ask what was happening. They then said nobody was actually at the practice and I should call the number given on my confirmation email. I am currently waiting on the phone line to understand what has happened. This has taken a whole morning out of my busy job and caused a lot of inconvenience to come here, as this is not especially near my house.

  9. Review titled Quick appointment & referral

    by Unknown42 - Posted on 06 October 2023

Had an unusual change to my body and contacted the surgery using the online form. Within 2 days I had an appointment. At my appointment my GP was super thorough and took time to listen and ask questions. A day after my appt I received a text to confirm that the referral to a local hospital for checks has been completed. Really appreciate the support and speed with which my physical health concern was actioned.
