  1. Review titled Smear test

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2025

The Nurse was utterly delightful. Along with most women I hate smear tests, the Nurse took the time to make me feel comfortable and was really pleasant throughout. I felt completely reassured with her doing the procedure. She was extremely knowledgable and explained everything clearly. The Nurse is a true asset to the NHS, what a star.

  2. Review titled Unhelpful/uncaring receptionists and No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 March 2025

After being a patient of Leckhampton surgery for over 30 years I finally had enough and have moved due to the lack of appointments available and the uncaring/unsympathetic staff on reception. You cant call until after 10am for a same day appointment, often there are non available, even speaking to a dr on the phone is not possible, and the staff dont care how important it is that you speak to someone. I am caring for my mum who has alzeimers and trying to get appointments for her became impossible. The surgery has too many patients and is unable to handle the existing ones, but it still takes on more. The failings at the surgery are nothing to do with Covid or government funding, but due to bad management and over stretched doctors. I cannot fault the doctors and nurses at the surgery, but when you are unable to even see one and end up having to seek help for your 85 year old mother via 111 - only to have to ring again to see a doctor is a dreadful way to treat any human being. Since moving, the new practice has made me feel human and important again. They have already shown a deep understand for what it is like being a carer and couldnt help enough. This is how a proper caring surgery works

We’re sorry to hear that you have decided to leave the practice and take seriously your comments regarding the care you were accessing for your Mum. We are constantly reviewing the best way to bring the best and most appropriate care to our patients. Whilst we feel that low funding is a definite factor in the care we are able to give, we understand your frustrations and will continue to strive for improvement in all areas. Please note that for urgent appointments patients can call from 08:30am for same day care. Routine appointments are released at 10:00am daily.

  3. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Warner - Posted on 16 January 2025

An excellent experience throughout, including a telephone consultation, a swiftly arranged and carried-out ECG, blood test and x-ray, then an in-person review of the results. Felt my concerns were taken very seriously by the GP involved.

The GP I saw was absolutely brilliant. He took time to help and understand. He gave me help and assistance for the future. I'm incredibly grateful to him for giving me the time I needed. A great man, and an outstanding GP.

I didn’t have an appointment booked but I needed to see a doctor. I was given a duty doctor appointment & when he rang he was extremely helpful. He asked me to attend the surgery. Very good service.

  7. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Helen Appel - Posted on 16 January 2025

Great practice. Very understanding doctor. Asked all the right questions. Thought about my problem very carefully and arranged many tests to get to the cause. All of them arranged the same day. The friendliness of the doctor and the engaging with the situation gave me great confidence.

  8. Review titled Complicated

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2025

I have really struggled to get an appt for my teenage son, it was so difficult, & after 4 or 5 attempts (on the phone as they do not have online account), that we resorted to seeing a private GP! They confirmed his problem & prescribed according; after a few months I again tried to make an appt with Leckhampton Surgery GP to continue treatment & ask for repeat presentation, again I could not get an appt for him! Eventually I booked for myself online & then tried to call to change it for my son; this proved again complicated when I was told I couldn’t do it.. after much discussion with receptionist we resolved the issue & I finally spoke to the GP who was really helpful, however getting to this point was exceptionally hard work 😔

  9. Review titled 1st class service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Nick - Posted on 16 January 2025

Arranged a call from a gp. After a very helpful receptionist advised and assisted in more ways than normal. She kept her word and I had a call from the gp within 5min. He then listened to my issues and advised that I needed to head to hospital. On arrival they knew I was coming and I was dealt with immediately.

  10. Review titled GPs very helpful

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 December 2024

Once you can secure an appointment either by telephone or in person, the treatment or advice and assistance is second to none but the issue is securing such an appointment. Surely the system needs to be improved because the GPs I have spoken to were fantastic.

Good Morning We are pleased you are happy with our Clinical Treatment and apologies you are having difficulties with our appointment system. Our appointments are released at 10am each day, including Weekends. These are available both online, through the NHS app & on the phone. Are you aware that 111 is available to give advice, both online and on the phone, and they have access to book directly into our appointments if they feel this is necessary. Also now local pharmacists are commissioned to give advice on Minor injuries and Minor ailments for some simple illnesses and can also prescribe some medications. NHS England have put in place these extra services to help with the pressure on the GP surgeries at this time. Thank you for your understanding Kind Regards Leckhampton Surgery
