Review titled Unprofessional receptionist
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 September 2024
Firstly let me say that the clinical staff at the practice are friendly and professional at all times. However I called in to drop off a sample the other day and there was no one at the desk but I could hear voices inside the reception office. The receptionist eventually arrived at the desk while having a conversation with someone else in the office and put out a hand to take the sample from me while continuing to chat to a colleague. I asked a question regarding the sample but was ignored as it was quickly taken from me and thrown into a basket at which point the receptionist walked away to continue the conversation which was never interrupted by any attempt to engage with myself. Since I'm expected to discuss my medical issues with these people before being allowed access to a clinician I would expect more professionalism and less contempt. Perhaps some re-training in how to deal with patients is in order?

Review titled Great Doctor
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sue Holmes - Posted on 16 September 2024
Dr sorted my issues out for me, she was very thorough in her examination and kind. Investigated all the avenues for my condition spoke to the Royal Hospital and got an appointment on the same day. There is a lot of criticism regarding Practices in the news but from contacting 111 to being seen by Dr i was very impressed with my treatment. Thank you very much regards Sue

I contacted the practice to check whether a referral letter had been sent to me as requested four days ago, the young lady messaged the doctor then called me back to update me on when I would receive the letter.

Review titled Almost impossible to get appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Disappointed Dan - Posted on 04 June 2024
Advised to get a PSA ( prostrate cancer) screening test. Currently being promoted to test for early signs of prostrate cancer. This is a simple blood test but cannot be done without consultation with a clinician (someone at the surgery). Was told no appointment available in next two weeks and to call at a time more convenient for me to attend should one be available that day. Reception suggested ring at 8am and see if any appointments have become available, which like others have reported is almost certainly not going to be the case. Then to be told Monday is always busy, they have lots of patients and few doctors really wasn't what I wanted to hear. The system is broken and no one has a clue how to fix it.

Review titled Not the best but good enough
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Matthew L - Posted on 20 May 2024
I am studying for my postgraduate this year at the University of Derby. I've been a regular with the PMP for almost 9 months and it was not easy to get an appointment at first but eventually got into their system. It's easier for me to access NHS healthcare once I get in and request a review for my poor health. I have so many problems from pulmonary to skin conditions, this is why I need medications. The last time I had a viral infection the doctor didn't give me any medication and thought it would go away on its own but I ended up at A&E for a serious bacteria infection instead of a normal virus infection. It's alright but I appreciate the PMP took me seriously after I went to the hospital and they are willing to help me with my conditions regarding my complex medical history. The doctors are alright and listened to my requests so I should give a fair review to PMP. I am currently waiting for the physiotherapist's review on my back and blood test.

Review titled the worst gp practice ever
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024
Hanging on the phone nearly an hour several days in a row and still cannot book an appointment. They tell you to call after 8am but they don't answer and end call. After being lucky to connect they say all bookings are full. So how I can get an appointment when they don't answer? Shocking, they should be banned and closed down asap.

Review titled Improving significantly over the last few weeks
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Gill Hall - Posted on 05 May 2023
Having had lots of interaction with the practice over the last 12 months during which the service had declined significantly I have previously had to complain to the practice manager, however I am now noticing a great improvement in service. The practice has taken on and trained new receptionists all of whom seem keen to help, in addition to this I have now learned to contact them by phone after 1pm if the information or appointment I need is non urgent. I was previously thinking of moving but am now more than happy to stay with this practice. Seems a lot of hard work is going in to make improvements.
