  1. Review titled Very dissatisfied

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2023

Had a text last Friday requesting me to come in to reception regarding blood pressure checkup. Receptionist very rude and abrupt but at least the doctor I saw was pleasant. However she gave me a note requiring me to make an appointment with her colleague at reception, when I went back downstairs they were very offhanded and said I needed to do that online, I said don't bother total waste of time. Won't be coming back.

  2. Review titled Unpleasant experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Unfortunately today I saw the nurse practitioner with my child. It's not the first time I've seen her and her 'bedside manner' attitude wasn't very nice. She was dismissive, and visibly annoyed by the noise made by a 2 year old child who had waited for 30 minutes for an appointment. She was unsympathetic and offered little help support or comfort at a time when I felt vulnerable. My heart sank when I opened the door and saw her as it's not the first time she has treated us in this way. It's very hard to get an appointment at the surgery so when you finally do you want sympathy, kindness and understanding. We left with no support or real advice about what to do and in the meantime my child continues to suffer. I am so disappointed by the experience and do not want to be seen by her again. I understand if there is little she can so although I do think she should have referred us to a specialist as after 3 years of the problem her answer was 'something viral' - so frustrating!! I would at least expect kindness, sympathy and understanding for patients especially young parents and those who are vulnerable.

  4. Review titled Inappropriate use of patient data

Rated 1 star out of 5

I got 2 texts today one addressed to me and one to my son linking to an attachment requesting I sign a petition against traffic control measures being introduced in the area of the surgery. This is not the kind of communication I expect to have my contact information used for.

  5. Review titled Inappropriate communications

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The surgery sent all its patients a text with a link to a letter opposing local traffic calming proposals. There are differing views locally about these proposals, however, whatever the merit of the proposals, this was a wholly inappropriate use of our contact information. Our contact information was provided to the surgery for medical reasons, not for the surgery to campaign to its thousands of patients against traffic calming measures. People may have been waiting for important test results and so seeing a text from the GP could have caused them concern or distress, and it was wrong for the surgery to do this. There are other routes for the surgery to express its views to the council about the proposals and it ought to reflect upon whether it breached GDPR.

  6. Review titled Shocking Letter I received

Rated 1 star out of 5

I, along with every other patient at the Penrhyn Surgery received a letter today inviting us to sign a petition against the traffic calming measures being introduced in the area. Aside from the way the letter is full of misinformation, half-truths and downright lies, it's an astonishing breach of patient trust to use their NHS database to push a political position. Especially one which was designed by the council to improve health in the area. I expect nothing less from this unprofessional bunch

  7. Review titled Inappropriate use of my data

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2023

I was shocked to receive a letter via an official GP text notification asking me to protest against proposed modal filters in the area. I believe this is an inappropriate use of my data and the letter included is uniformed and misleading to members of the public that have not seen the full proposal plan. The proposal no way prevents access to the doctors surgery, it looks to make surrounding streets safer and less polluted. The catchment for this doctors is c.10 min walk radius, meaning there is no need for people to drive unless they have an impairment, in which case there is still access available. I am very disappointed in the attitude of this doctors surgery & the misuse of its data particularly given we live in an area that has been recorded to have dangerously high pollution levels - a health emergency!

  8. Review titled Text only service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 February 2023

This surgery operates a text only communication policy with patients. I have not had, or been invited to, a face to face appointment for more than 2 years. They just today sent me 2 text messages telling me they are referring me to weight management services. They tld me to reply "no" to opt out but they always send no reply texts. Plus, they don't even know how much I weigh as they haven't seen me in ages. In fact I have lost nearly a stone (5kg) since they last weighed me. The calculator for establishing if you are overweight (Devine 1974 formula) is outdated as people are all bigger now anyway. I admit I am overweight but not by that much. In fact the NHS BMI calculator advises me to lose just 3.8kg. There must be a lot more people who far are more in need of weight control assistance, especially when I see the size of some people in Waltamstow. I tried to call the surgery but was told the queue for calls was full and to call back. I notice Penrhyn surgery never respond to these comments/reviews so not sure they have any point but at least we can air our grievances somewhere.

  9. Review titled Rude staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 March 2023

Definitely one of the rudest GP practices I have registered with. The receptionist was incredibly rude and asked me inappropriate questions as to why I needed to see a GP about a long on going issue. This phonecall affected my mental health. Also their ridiculous online system is not fit for purpose. It says to go on at 0830 but the link never even works in that time. By the time you refresh it, you are told constantly to go again at 10am. Ridiculous and out dated system, why not just book appointments at a first come first serve basis?

  10. Review titled Awful: no appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 January 2023

I have been trying to get an appointment since December. I’ve had tests that I need results for and a referral requirement. The system says log in at 8.30 and at 8.30 each day I have done that and there are no appointments. I’ve tried ringing and they say they won’t book over the phone and to try logging in the next day.
