    The doctors at the surgery are really good but only problem is reaching to the doctors appointment. The main problem is the Patch system as it opens only 7.45to 8 am in the morning and that the the same time most of the parents are running for office or school run. so most of the time miss the deadline. Also the first appointment is telephone so for example if it is for your child he will not be able to explain what exactly happening to him only doctors can check it and diagnose in better way on physical examination. I would like to mention that though the doctors are good but due to flows in appointment system and time to reach to the face to face appointment many time things gets worst as remain undiagnosed and reach to some critical stages. The more attention of NHS should be on early diagnosis but unfortunately the patch system is failing to get early appointment and missing on the early diagnosis of the issues.

    I have a number of eye conditions and I have a history of eye infections whilst abroad. I contacted the practice through Patchs and requested a prescription for an antibiotic ointment to take with me on my forthcoming holiday in Europe. A doctor texted me the same day of my request to say that a prescription had been sent to my pharmacy plus advice on use. I appreciated how the practice dealt with my concerns.

    The new PATCH's system does not take into account the needs of all patients. There is a tiny window for requesting appointments between 7:45 - 8:00am. Lots of people have jobs and caring responsibilities meaning they are busy in the morning and thus unable to fill out the lengthy form during this window. Additionally, speaking from my own experience, mental ill health can make it hard to reach out for help. When I'm struggling, one of my biggest symptoms is chronic fatigue and oversleeping as a result. Therefore PATCH's early time window has prevented me from accessing my GP's help when I've really needed it. Luckily I have a good support network, but what of those who don't? You can call reception, but in my experience the staff have been rude and unsympathetic. You also can't request next day appointments which further limits accessibility for people with jobs.

    On 18/04/2024, I made an online application to join the Ridgeway Surgery Application reference: Gpreg-049901-00000973 After login, I arrived at the page: "My Requests and Messages." The name of my previous surgery appears at the top left of this page. I can't see any way to change the surgery name to "The Ridgeway Surgery". I would be grateful for instructions on how to change the surgery name. Thank you

    I had a telephone call following a blood test. The GP was caring, gave detailed, thorough advice, and took my concerns on board. I was not rushed - I was given the time I needed.

    I approached The Ridgeway Surgery for a high BP issue. From the point of obtaining an appointment on Patches, to the actual in person meeting with the Doctor and diagnosis and subsequent treatment thereof was extremely professional, smooth and hassle free. This has been aided by future follow up visits to monitor the condition for full recovery. Truly appreciate the services of the Doctor and the supporting staff of the Surgery.

    I went online to Patches first thing when it opened. Within 10 minutes I got a call back from a receptionist who got me an appointment the same day.

    I have recently 1. On several occasions tried to go on the patches system unsuccessfully. 2. Tried ringing the surgery with limited response. 3. Most recently visited the surgery to make an appointment to make an appointment to see a doctor to discuss my health concerns. The doctor who did see could not provide the tests I wanted, personally went into the Office to make an appointment for me to see a doctor that week, gave me an appointment the same. When I did turn up for the appointment it had not been registered or recorded and I was unable to see anybody other than the receptionist who tried to offer me another two weeks later when I cannot be available. This is very frustrating and though I've been with the surgery for about 40years I'm sorry to say that the service at his surgery has deteriorated considerably that I am seriously thinking of leaving it and moving elsewhere.
