Although staff ok, you are lucky to get past the phone receptionist to get an appointment. I have tried Econsult many times it always says try again tomorrow. I have given up trying this. I am 83 hardly ever been to see a doctor, and have even gone to a private hospital to see a doctor if it seems urgent. I dread if I need to see someone urgently. I did actually get an appointment this week to see someone at York Road clinic in 2 weeks time. I assume if it urgent I will have to go private again or phone 999 for an ambulance and wait hours for it to arrive.

I came to the surgery for a blood test The nurse was very good. She told me what the sample was being tested for. I didn’t feel the needle go in.

I was sent to see the physio after some issues with my neck were found. When I got there he spent a lot of time receiving text msgs and said a previous patient had made him late so could we reschedule. I remarked to friends how odd his behaviour was. On the next visit he was different. He examined me and found issues with my reflexes. As I'd been to ER twice this year already with serious issues and told him of how my arms are numb all night, my bowel and urination is difficult and I've had episodes where my speech has gone he listened when I said my fibromyalgia might be ms. He sent me for an emergency mri on my spine to address the numbness. Even though issues were found no one bothered to follow up on that mri. I had to phone 3 times. Then when I had an appointment he acted like a different character again. He barely looked at me and said nothing much he could do apart from give me some exercises. A specialist was recommended on the mri but he said it will likely just be pain injections. We'll I don't want that so I left feeling deflated and I won't go back. I even asked if he had a twin because his behaviour changes so much from visit to visit. I wonder if he was told of for allowing me to have that mri. The only decent thing anyone did there.

We are very pleased with improvements at Ridgeway surgery , however I , and other patients I’ve spoken to feel that there is no privacy when speaking to the receptionist from the waiting room area. Sometimes it’s necessary to explain the health issue , in full hearing of the patients in the waiting room , it’s extremely embarrassing and upsetting to do so . I feel this needs to be changed .

I have tried to get an appt on their e-consult and it's impossible, never any appts - the only way to get one is if you call as an emergency at 8am and are willing to hang on for hours. I was on for 45 minutes waiting, totally impractical if you have a job. Extremely unprofessional.

At the present our patients can contact us: Via Patient Online Access Services – via this service patients can request their repeat prescriptions eConsultation – patients can access this service from Monday to Friday between 8am – 11am via our practice website at www.ridgewaysurgerychingford.nhs.uk, by completing eConsultation patients can request routine appointment with doctor Telephone call – patients who are not able to request their appointment via eConsultation are advised to telephone practice at 8am especially if their problem is urgent so practice is able to resolve their query on that day Face to face in the practice - mainly when patients are asked to book a follow up appointment with one of our clinicians Thank you again for your time and your feedback.
