  1. Review titled This is GP is so outdated

Rated 2 stars out of 5

This GP has the most non-logical booking system - everything is via phone calls and it is impossible to get through. App appointments doesn't work if there is no referral from the doctor (to get a referral from the doctor you need to book via phone call). To review a simple blood test result you need to wait 3 weeks (!) for a doctor to call (again to book it you need to call a surgery) you and this is not the worst part - when doctor appointment is booked - specific time is not given, so you just sit and wait all day. Not everyone has this luxury - some people cannot use their phone at work and answer phone calls at any time. And when doctor finally calls you - 5 times out of 10 - there is bad signal for some reason and you cannot understand anything they say.

Thank you very much for your feedback, and experience with our service. We are fully aware how difficult getting an appointment, and getting through to the surgery has been over a number of years. We have tried different projects to improve this, which works for a period of time, but not long term. We have in recent months successfully changed our procedure for booking appointments, offering more future availability online and at reception. We are also reviewing our telephone system to make it easier to get through to our practice. We are also using E Consult to help with reviews, medical certificates, and asking patients to request prescriptions online. This all impacts on telephones and will help with the availability of appointments. We are working to improve our service, and do hope that this will be evident in the next few months. You can also sign up online to view your health record. Once a GP has reviewed you blood tests, and commented on the result, this can be viewed. All appointments are available face to face and telephone, we do offer patients a choice. Telephone calls are usually made after their clinics, which may over run, however, some GPs work differently and will call you before or during their clinics. I am sorry that we were not able to offer you a specific time. We do make calls from a landline, if they are calling a mobile number this may have an impact on reception.
