    I booked a GP appointment online for a non urgent appointment. I waited around three weeks for the appointment but that was fine for my needs. I was given the choice of face to face or telephone - I chose face to face and was seen exactly in time. The GP listened to my concerns told me what blood tests he was doing and how to arrange them at the surgery. Receptionists were helpful. I was really concerned about being able to access care having read all the negative discussions about GP access, but this experience was just excellent

    Myself and my husband had our winter flu jabs recently. We hardly had to wait and the practice nurse was friendly kind and efficient. She asked after a poorly member of our family which was really appreciated.

    Having been with the surgery for nearly 60 years, we’ve always been very satisfied. The girls on reception are always extremely helpful. There has never been a problem and they’ve been able to get the doctor to call when necessary. One criticism is that it is not always possible to see the nominated doctor which we have.

    Thank you for your positive feedback on the service we provide at Valkyrie surgery. This is very much appreciated. We have a number of part-time and full-time doctors, we try our very best to allocate the doctor of choice, which is not always practical we booking. We have, in recent months, changed our appointments system, allowing more future availability and booking with all GPs, both at reception and online. We do hope this helps with your valued criticism.     Booked after having a text to say flu jabs were available, got an appointment within 10 days, attended, was asked to take a seat, did not get to sit down before i was called, the nurse already had the syringe ready, took off my coat , had the Jab, in and out in 2 minutes. i have no complaints with that.

    I received an appointment this morning to bring my special needs nephew to the surgery for consultation regarding an ongoing eye problem. The doctor was brilliant, she listened to details of the problem gave an in depth examination and a clear and decisive opinion which was most reassuring. Overall a very good experience.

    It is impossible to get an appointment, no matter the time or day you call. "All the appointments have gone"...even at 8am as soon as they open.

    Thank you very much for your feedback, and experience with our service. We are fully aware how difficult getting an appointment, and getting through to the surgery has been over a number of years. We have tried different projects to improve this, which works for a period of time, but not long term. We have in recent months successfully changed our procedure for booking appointments, offering more future availability online and at reception. We are also reviewing our telephone system to make it easier to get through to our practice. We are also using E Consult to help with reviews, medical certificates, and asking patients to request prescriptions online. This all impacts on telephones and will help with the availability of appointments. We are working to improve our service, and do hope that this will be evident in the next few months.

    I had an X-Ray on my Ankle following a consultation with the GP. 13 September 2022 - although my online record show the the result of the X-Ray is Abnormal I still cannot discuss this with the GP. I am now told I will have to wait another 2 weeks to receive a call from a GP. So 6 to 8 weeks wait to speak to a GP about an abnormal X-Ray Result.

    Thank you for your review, unfortunately as you have remained anonymous this limits the ability for us to review your issue. I have been through all the appointments on the 13th September regarding foot xrays and can see only one with an abnormal result. The doctors look at these results once received from Radiology and inform reception team on the review time required, whether this be urgent, routine etc., The record that I reviewed that may have been your consultation, a routine appointment would have been satisfactory as symptoms started 12 months previous to the xray. Of course this is only an assumption that I have managed to review the correct records. Should you wish to discuss this further, or, you feel that you require an urgent appointment as your symptoms have not been present for 12 months, please do contact the surgery and speak to the Reception Manager or leave your details for them to be reviewed once again by a GP to reassess the urgency of the appointment. Thank you for allowing us to respond to your issue.

    I had managed to lock myself out of the online appointment system, I went into the surgery as informed to do, of the 6 ladies sitting on the front desk, 4 of them didn’t even acknowledge me standing there, they were busy discussing, rather loudly , “ a parking issue they have down there street where they live” I was eventually spoken to , I explained why I was there and that I needed help to access the online booking please, I am unwell and need to book an appointment . The lady asked for my id and then after a short time handed me the paperwork I needed and said , the first time you log on you have to do it from a laptop or computer. I informed them I haven’t got ether, “ the lady further down on reception shouted out “ well go to a library then” ! I explained the local one is closed it’s Wednesday and I don’t drive and I’m unwell. Well you only option is going to the library! I replied can I pls book an appointment, “ I can only book an appointment for in two weeks time” and in two weeks it’s a Sunday! “ I replied, so you can’t book me an appointment for in 15 days so it’s a Monday then ? I need to see a specific doctor pls who has diagnosed me and has referred me for my stomach condition, “ you can not request a specific doctor “ I repeated it again, And was eventually given an appointment for in 15 days time , When you are unwell you especially need to be given professional, helpful advice and care. This surgery has none of the above and the ladies on the appointment desk really need to understand this as I’m sure they have a duty of care to the people in need who come into the surgery. It is us “ the members of the public “ That there employment lays with . They could not have been anymore unhelpful or unpleasant.
