The Receptionist was unhelpful, spoke to me like a child and made out I was the one who was causing a problem, when I became irritated with her lack of regard and empathy.

Not Great i am very frustrated with the village medical centre. you try to Book an appointment as you have received a text to say to book one on the 11th october 2024 text received dear mr p, we have received your recent test results and we would like you to make a routine telephone appointment to discuss this with your gp. thanks, village medical centre "i called the surgery on the 15 th october and they said there isn't any appointments left for the week, and to called back next monday" on the 21st october 2024 text received dear mr p, we have reviewed your recent test results .could you please call the surgery to book a routine appointment with the doctor to discuss these at your earliest convenience. thanks village medical centre "i called the surgery on the 21 st october and they said there isn't any appointments left for the week, and to called back next monday" I explained that i called last week and was told this and she said you have to call at 8 am I then explained i could not call at 8 am as I was working as I am a carer in the community, and cannot call as well because your 15th in the Que or it says their is to much demained Call Back Later i was then told to go on the App and Book one for next week this is unacceptable and Not fair for the receptionists to get the flack off us what about those who cannot call at 8 am ? elderly people, people working, parents getting their kids ready for school i would like a reply to this for all patients to see please explain 1) why this happens? 2) when you call the voicemail says "are you aware you can book an appointment online. really !!!! 3) why on the nhs website are you accepting new patients when you can't even cope with the ones you have? "accepting new patients accepts out of area registrations" Lee

Review titled Appointments
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I don’t usually have any issues with the surgery but my last week or so trying to get in to see a specific doctor seems like I’m asking for too much. I was told on the 12/9 and received a message that I needed to see specific doctor due to some tests that came back abnormal. I spoke with the receptionist that day and explained I’ve been told I need to book in to discuss my results. They explained to me that they will receive specific dr rota on the following Monday so to call back then. So I waited till Monday morning and called at 8am. I asked for the specific doctor however was then told they were not in till the Wednesday so I was offered another dr. This dr was lovely however told me she could not give me any information due to not knowing why these tests were ordered. She then said she would contact the lady in charge of the rotas to get me booked in with the dr who ordered these tests. I hadn’t heard anything so called Wednesday morning and asked for an appointment as I knew this dr I needed to see was back. Anyhow, I called as it turned 8. When I finally got through I asked for an appt with specific dr, I was then told I need to call at 8. I said I did call at 8 however I’ve been on hold for an hour and 11 minutes. I was apparently number 1 at 08:33 but no one answered till 09:10. I was then told to call back the following morning to which I said okay. So I called the next morning dead on 8, it went straight to full capacity. I carried on trying to call as I left work and ended up going to the surgery to explain my concerns. I explained to the receptionist that I’ve been told this and that as I said above, to which she told me the dr was at full capacity today. I explained that I had this message and can I book in for the following day. The receptionist then told me the dr did not work that specific day and was on annual leave the following week and would not return till the end of the month. Like I’ve said I’ve never really had an issue with this surgery but these results have made me worry and to not be able to speak to anyone and being turned away each time even after that dr has told me to make this appointment has really put me into a state. I then received a confusing message from one of the drs asking to to attend the surgery to have my bp taken for some meds so straight away called reception to ask what this meant and when. The receptionist said they were closed and to attend the pharmacy instead. I just feel I’m getting nowhere and no answers.

Dear Patient, I am so sorry to hear that you are having issues booking an appointment with a specific doctor. However, if it is results it can be with any GP but if you require a certain GP then there may be a longer waiting period. I am unable to help at this specific time because you have raised concerns anonymously. If you wish to discuss these issues further please do not hesitate to contact me personally. Review titled Very good practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sue - Posted on 06 September 2024
Really good, can't fault it in my opinion. When I essentially really poorly they picked it up and dealt with me straight away, The practice manager,Dr's,Cal the HCA, the nurses all very professional and you couldn't wish for a better team, when I ask for anything I get it, nothing is too much trouble and they never make me feel a fool.

Review titled Regular Problems Never Corrected
Rated 1 star out of 5

My 86 year old aunt receives a blister pack every Monday. Out of the last 13 weeks there have been issues on 9 occasions due to the Doctors not signing off prescriptions when requested by the pharmacist (which is actually in the same building) On 2 occasions she didn’t get her pack until the next day meaning that she missed out on taking tablets. The pharmacist had told us numerous times that they keep requesting prescriptions signing off but with no response. My aunt suffers from, amongst other things, anxiety and these issues just make things worse. How difficult can it be to get a doctor to sign off the same prescription every week at the same time. Today I phoned three times, waited in the phone queue, and then the phone just rang out with no one answering. It looks like the reviews on here are cherrypicked. The Google reviews give the surgery a 1.7 out of 5. How can this continue to go on when even such simple, basic things don’t get done properly. Dealing with this surgery and with the Pharmacy is an exasperating experience.

Dear Patient, We are so sorry to hear of your recent experiences with both our service and also that of the pharmacy. We recently contacted you in regards to the issues raised with the processes of your aunt's medication. We established that her medication is issued weekly x 4 for each month and signed and sent to her nominated pharmacy, however they are still not being delivered on time. Therefore we are in discussions about either ordering on-line or the practice taking control and generating a scheduled task each month to stop these discrepancies reoccurring. We have scheduled a telephone call for 7.8.24 to discussions your options further. I look forward to speaking to you. Kind regards Sharon Cooper Practice Manager

Review titled Menopause Support Group
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Extremely insightful and very informative. Excellent delivery by the Dr who organised this event. It felt very informal making asking questions easy to ask and not feeling that any question was a silly question. Menopause is a serious issue for many women so feeling heard was very much appreciated

Review titled Excellent rapid assistance
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 May 2024
My father had been let down by his pharmacy delivery service and was completely out of medication. I phoned the surgery and the call was picked up quickly. The person who answered was extremely helpful, checking with the prescription team and dad's pharmacy. After which I was able to pick up medication at different local pharmacy. I was tremendously grateful that dad's epilepsy treatment was not further interrupted. Heartfelt thanks to all involved.
