  1. Review titled terrible patient service

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 October 2024

I would like to share an experience that started about three months ago. I’m excluding the doctors who genuinely did their part because some really went above and beyond to investigate. (If an inquiry is ever conducted, their names will be clear.) For a long time, I’ve been dealing with fatigue, and unfortunately, it has affected my entire life. I’m unable to work, and most of the time, I can’t even manage my daily tasks. As you might imagine, since I’m the one who’s ill, I had no idea what was going on with me, so I decided to seek help and went to my GP. My first doctor conducted the necessary tests and, as far as I know, referred me to the appropriate departments. (At that time, I was mainly dealing with heart and digestive issues.) However, as my symptoms persisted, I returned to the GP several more times. One of the doctors, unfortunately, responded dismissively and told me I had anxiety; the only question they asked was whether I was in a good mood. They suggested I create a routine for myself over the next two weeks and said we could have a follow-up after that. Here, I have a criticism: people who genuinely suffer from anxiety typically cannot regulate it on their own. If a psychological issue was suspected, I still don’t understand why I was sent off to manage it alone without a referral. Likewise, the last doctor I consulted ran all the necessary tests, so I have no complaints in that regard. However, during our discussion of the results, they simply advised me to take vitamin D, even though my levels were normal. Again, I wasn’t referred anywhere else, and the consultation ended with this empty suggestion. This process, unfortunately, was mentally and psychologically exhausting, and I feel the GP doctors were inadequate (especially considering that this is the first point of contact, and without their referral, nothing further can be done). In a country where mental health is given such importance, I don’t understand how it was so overlooked in my case. When I eventually decided to seek mental health support on my own, I sadly found that my depression score was high, and I had anxiety. I was able to come to this realization myself, but I’m writing this because I know that many people in this situation might not have that same insight. Please, let doctors do their duty and put an end to these ineffective consultations. Illnesses can’t be resolved simply by sending people home and saying there’s nothing wrong. Thank you

I waited less than a minute before being escorted to the treatment room, all interactions were courteous with clear communication and the minimum of fuss. A very pleasant and smooth experience.

  3. Review titled Blood Sample

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Malcolm Yeomans - Posted on 02 August 2024

In the past I've had so much troble having a blood sample taken. My viens it seems are hard to find. Invariably I end up having the blood taken from my hand. Even then often it's pretty hard to find. Imagine my relief when my blood was taken with no fuss no pain no bruising no 3rd attempt. Thank you for your friendly manner and expertise.

  4. Review titled I didn't receive any response

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ahmad - Posted on 08 July 2024

I moved to this area a month ago...and I registered directly online and so far I have not received a response...and I went to the center and they told me to wait for a response to your account...even though I needed a necessary doctor's prescription...I went to the hospital and a doctor received me... He said, "Don't come here. Go to the general practitioner." He did not provide me with an interpreter so that I could express to him what was inside me, that I needed medicine... He said, "Speak alone, that in Britain."

  5. Review titled Reception queuing waiting

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 May 2024

Today 28/5/2024 l went to the medical centre The ladies at the reception downstairs & upstairs were very friendly & helpful. But the Queuing downstairs at the reception needs to be improved & updated to stop people from jumping the Que. It's not fair on the people who are queuing & waiting. 3 people just walked in front of me & people Queuing ,straight to the reception counter & the reception staff do not know if these people have qued. A sign is not a fair way to Que in 2024. The system for queuing at reception downstairs needs to be updated to be fairer to all, example, by ticket, or a person observing the queing.

  6. Review titled Reception queuing & waiting there is a problem .

Rated 3 stars out of 5

At the reception, The waiting & Queuing there is a problem and it is not fair to all the people are Queuing. Today 28/5/2024 , 3 persons just walked in front me & people Queuing, & jumped the Que, & went straight to reception counter. Why do people think they don't have to wait or Que & they can walk in front of other people who Que. The system for queuing has to be updated to be fairer to all people waiting & queuing. The people at the reception have no idea these people have jumped the Que. Either a ticket system or a person there to stop people from jumping the Que. There has to be a better way of waiting & queuing in 2024

I came today with sore throat, can’t eat since yesterday but the only thing they said is to take paracetamol and expect that might get worst in next three days but I need to rest in bed because it’s probably the virus. Unbelievable..

  8. Review titled Very bad experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Mariana Stan - Posted on 04 August 2023

I am currenty pregnant 32 weeks and the midwife after my blood test told me to ask the GP to prescribe me the medication. Firstly I went to the receptionist with the results, and I asked to be given a prescription. The receptionist told me to take pictures of the papers and send it to the GP and wait for them to call me back. I did it and few hours later I received a call saying that they can’t understand anything and I have to come back the next day in the morning with the papers. I did this today and after a long waiting the pharmacist told me that I have to go back home and wait for the text message. But before that to go to reception and see if I am registered to get free medication. And here surprise, after giving my date of birth, the receptionist told me that I have to fill up the form because I haven’t registered for exemption. ( just to be clear that I did fill up the form on 9th of June, 2 months ago) So now I will have to fill up another form and for the medication just keep the receipt and make a claim after. In the circumstances that I did all the process 2 months in advance. I do understand that the GP surgery have a quite big amount of patients but the experience I am experiencing is very frustrating. I’m still not sure if my form will be sent and also if I will be able to receive the medication. And with my current situation is very hard to go out so much. I hope that someone will take responsibility for this and the people working there will be more responsible when it comes to patients.

  9. Review titled Patient and friendly receptionists

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Maria - Posted on 14 March 2023

I went to the surgery yesterday which was extremely busy. There was only on receptionist manning the desk who was beyond patient, calm and kind whilst trying to deal with some challenging patients. The other receptionist returned who again was equally kind and patient which i was in awe of as i waited to be seen. They both handled themselves and navigated a high pressure environment with ease. Both ladies deserve recognition for their great work.

  10. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom Territt - Posted on 14 March 2023

I had an appointment with a Physiotherapist in the am of 13th. March. I arrived 15minutes early, Friendly welcome from the Receptionist, booked in immediately, went to the waiting Area. Called for my Consultation 5 minutes before appointed time. Consultation was superb, in that, all areas of concern were covered in an unhurried, conversational and Jargon free manner. Treatment recommendation was fully explained and ensured that I understood. I left much relieved and content. All areas visited were very Clean, Neat and Tidy
