Rated 5 stars out of 5

What a fabulous practitioner I had today (can’t leave names in the review- why? Give credit where the credit is due surely? I felt acknowledged, she listened, she cared. Heartfelt thanks for your compassion and care; it meant a lot.

I too struggle with this GP surgery, hard to get apt, stupid apt system standing in queue for hours when your not well, reception staff not always friendly and helpful, but positive review for Nurse today, friendly, patient and very approachable, explained everything and didn’t make me feel rushed and like I was taking up too much time. 10 out of 10.

Dear Patient Thankyou for taking the time to write your review and provide feedback. I am pleased to hear you had a positive experience with one of our Nursing team. It's a real morale boost for the team when they receive such great feedback. Regarding the appointments, we delivered 5274 appointments in the month of August. We offer some appointments which are available via online booking (NHS app or Systmonline). We also have taken on board feedback about appointment availability and are able to offer some appointments with a GP on some Saturdays. Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

Review titled Booking system is not working
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Astrid Shepherd - Posted on 03 October 2024
I have been a patient at Trentside since 2021. I found the doctors I have seen extremely efficient and caring. But their booking system and reception staff lets the practice down. I am a patient fortunate to have excellent general health, so therefore not needing an appointment very often. However, when I do need a doctor, it has to be a doctor that is able to inject into a joint. Not every doctor in the practice is able to this treatment, and I have spent hours on the phone trying to get through and I have been queing from the time the doors open on several occasions, only to be told there are no appointments with a doctor able to carry out this procedure. So unfortunately I have had to transfer to a different surgery. I am rather saddened by this, as I have found the practitioners excellent.

Dear Astrid Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry that you are unhappy with the booking system and the reception team. Joint injections are a specialist procedure and as you are aware, not all GPs are trained in this. We are looking at how we currently arrange these appointments to see if there is a better way of managing this. We are aware our phone lines are busy, particularly at peak times (for example Monday mornings) and have recently invested in a new phone system which features a call back option so that patients don't need to hold on the line. Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

Review titled Never ending cycle
Rated 1 star out of 5

Unable to get an appointment. It's a never ending cycle of calling them at 8am and being told to try again tomorrow. It's starting to feel like hunger games. Trent site takeover was the worst thing to happen. Before I was able to at least book an appointment even if it was a couple of weeks away.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to write a review for the surgery. I am sorry that you are dissatisfied with the service provided. We are aware that our phone lines are busy from 8am in the morning. Our appointments are released on a staggered basis to try and ensure that there are appointments available for same day emergencies and for routine pre-booking. We know that the demand for GP appointments outstrips the supply of appointments, and we are always looking for ways to better utilise the resources we have. Several appointments are also available for booking through the NHS App. We have trialled and utilised several ways of running our appointment system and we are continually monitoring and evaluating our demand and supply of appointments. We also work with our Patient Participation Group when looking at our system. In England, whilst the number of GPs and the number of practices are declining, the number of patients continues to rise. The average number of patients per GP has seen a steady increase since 2015. There are 2,298 patients per GP as of February 2024, which is an increase of 7% since 2019 The Royal College of General Practitioners published data showing that whilst the total number of GPs in general practice has been increasing due to increasing numbers of trainees, the number of fully qualified GPs (including locums) has been steadily declining. For the GPs that remain, this means increasing numbers of patients to take care of. Locally, we are fortunate to have well established services to help meet the health needs of our community. Where appropriate, our reception team will signpost patients to the best service to meet their needs. These services mean that our GP appointments are freed up for those with medical issues that require GP input. Despite this, we are aware that there are availability issues with GP appointments and for that we are sorry. We appreciate it can be frustrating and inconvenient when the appointments are fully booked. When we are fully booked, our receptionists will signpost you to other available services including the pharmacy or an Urgent Treatment Centre. In August we provided 5274 appointments across both of our sites (Trentside & Carlton Hill) which were a mixture of same day and pre-bookable for GPs, ANPs, Nurses and Health Care Assistants) Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

Review titled Shocking poor practice

Yet again let down by repeat prescription, had thyroid surgery a few weeks ago Dr's informed and I need thyroid med daily gir my health as I have No thyroid, I checked with the surgery before a repeat letter was taken to the surgery 5 days ago ,still not ready,I did voice my concerns to my surgeon that my only real worry was getting these important tablets on time,I'm at the hospital out patients next week I will be telling my consultant that my fears are right from the very first repeat prescription request. My sister and her family are lucky to go to a 5 star practice in Stapleford maybe they should role out a working module for surgery's like mine. I feel let down,by my G.P.and it's not the first time. What is going to happen when I need another repeat prescription? I already know.

Review titled No appoinments or service left.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 April 2024
Unable to get an appointment for a checkup & getting no help as unable to call at the 2 specific slot times to try to get one. No advance appointments, no help offered, no alternative advice but to keep trying to get an appointment approved or get so ill the hospital will deal with it. Or you can try an appontment online but these appointments are released daily also. The NHS app won't know which doctor you need, so Trentside will cancel the appointment & ask you to make an appointment, but then not give you an appointment. Maybe this helps reduce pateint waiting times, but not their health

Review titled Call back tomorrow.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 April 2024
Attempted to make an appointment for a routine/known health issue. Advised no appointments given outside of 8am or 1pm, (despite website stating otherwise). In April NHS contract changes for GPs 2023/24 outlined that this system is no longer permitted without providing patient further advise or referring to another provider/care offered. No other solutions given. No help provided except advised to complain. Thanks to S**** the receptionist.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to write a review and give us feedback. I am sorry that you are dissatisfied with the service you have received. The contract change you mention means that reception are able to signpost to appropriate services, if this didn't happen in this particular case then I am sorry. I have recently joined the surgery in June this year and will be reviewing how we can better communicate with our patients around effective signposting to appropriate services that are available locally for our patients. We are always grateful for patient feedback Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager
