Review titled Very poor
Rated 1 star out of 5

I had a telephone consultation with a doctor through my employee benefits scheme with work and was advised I needed to see my GP urgently today for my breathing to be checked as I have asthma and may need steroids. Rang the GP surgery and was told the number I called was for emergencies only and to ring back at 1pm. I told her I had been advised as a matter of urgency to see my GP today, If having an asthma attack and needing to be assessed by your GP isn't urgent for today then what is? For anything more urgent I would call 999. Absolute awful treatment by the person who answered the call, she didn't even bother to ask why I had called the number advised on the answer phone message. Maybe they need to be clearer about what they deem an emergency on the answer phone message

Review titled Change appointment system
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Melanie - Posted on 27 June 2024
Why, after all the reviews complaining about the appointment system, haven’t they done something about it? Having to make an appointment on that day and not being able to make it for any other day is not working. Everyone’s ringing at 8am with no appointments left when they get to the front of the queue. This needs addressing now. Stop ignoring your patients.

Thank you for your feedback. As a practice we are reviewing our appointment system and have recently increased the number of face to face appointments we offer on a daily basis. Undercliffe Surgery

Phoned the GP surgery for my 80 yr old mum who had a swollen ankle and leg and couldn’t weight bare was kept on hold when I finally got through I was told by a very rude uncaring receptionist I was too late for a home visit I had to call before 11.30 the time was 11.31 and I had been on hold 23 mins I was told to call 111 I did this to be told it was a GP issue they contacted the surgery for me and I was told I would get a call back but when this didn’t happen I called back to be told a doctor would visit before 6pm The doctor arrived just before 6 and was gone by 5 past saying he would get her a prescription to the chemist by the next morning By 8pm we were in A&E with her as she had a fall trying to use the toilet her infection markers were off the scale and she has been in hospital over a week How is this fair when a GP is prepared to leave a patient overnight in pain with swollen ankle and leg and no medication to help I would not recommend this surgery and it goes without saying my mum will be changing doctors as soon as she is home from hospital

Review titled Uncaring GP's
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024
After months of trying to get an appointment. One of the lovely nurses saw how poorly I was and demanded an appointment for me. Now I'm seriously poorly which could of been detected earlier. The GP is so uncaring and does not get in touch with you to see how you are after being in hospital. They will not prescribe the things you need to help you with your illness. I'm Very upset about my illness and upset that they don't care about you.

Review titled terrible patient service

called up this morning bang on 8.00 and to my utter surprise was number 8 in the call que - at 8.10 i went down to number 6 i think - for the call then to be transferred to an answer machine - telling me no-one was available to take my call and to leave a message - i have 3 children to get ready for school and to get myself to work - i called back to be told i'm number 67 in the call que this is an absolute joke and someone must have physically transferred this call to another extension - i have left a message so i expect a call back with an appointment just before christmas i called up again at 8.00am to be number 87 in the call que i took my children to school and i was still on the phone (kids holding it) drove up morley to have my eyes tested - had to ask if it was ok for the call to be ongoing - and at 9.58 the phone was answered - so it took almost 2 hours holding on the phone to try to speak to someone i have been told i am able to come down to book an appointment - so with 3 children this means getting them up - ready - breakfast and taking them down to the surgery all before 7.30 as i know that people are already queing up to get an appointment at this time - so my kids would have to be having to stand about with me - in the dark - rain - cold you are putting people in an impossible position and i have put this appointment off since last year because of the utter shambles of your service - you cannot possibly think that this is acceptable - i hope you take this forward to the powers that be and show them the problems we are facing with trying to contact you just to get an appointment i have been with your surgery since it was at the end of white lee - i am absolutely enraged

Review titled Thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I know surgeries get a lot of negative reviews for queue times for appointments and not having appointments available, which I understand and you cannot help the amount of people who call on any given day! I have had trouble getting through, but when I do I have alway been listened to and treated appropriately every single time. I love that you offer phone appointments as it is just easier than having to go into surgery and when I did need to go in face to face urgently it was done asap on the day. Thank you all for what you do!

Review titled Good luck trying to get an appointment

Monday, went in at 9am and was told fully booked but not even one person sat waiting to see a doctor Tuesday 8am - went in to be told they were only doing half day because of training so only 3 appts left 9am, 9:30 or 10am. What happens after 10am? They need training on diary management for crying out loud, surely training starts after lunch????
