Review titled So disappointed and in pain
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jayne - Posted on 14 March 2025
Visited GP 2 weeks ago, severe pain in left side stomach and back. Advised take pain killers, if no better in 2 weeks come back. Condition has worsened, pain increased. Completed triage form today, surgery advised doctor would like to see me and sent me a link. Earliest appointment in 4 weeks! Really?. Don't take new patients, try to look after the ones you already have.

Review titled Make it impossible to get any appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5

My experience of this surgery is they make it near impossible to book an appointment. They put every barrier in place to block you. They have brought in a process where you can only book an apt via online form, saying it would make it easier to get an appointment. But what it has actually done is make it near impossible. The form expires saying they have received the maximum request volume every day so unless you are able to do it in the morning you can Never book an appointment! Reception just redirect you to 111 but if none urgent this is not the right pathway. It is as though the practice want you use 111 or a&e instead. The nhs is constantly adverting seek help if you have "these symptoms" it you cannot book an appointment, it is as if this practice would prefer you to not seek help as it seems they put every barrier possible in the way of getting an appointment. After 2 weeks of initial calls and trying to complete the form I eventually got an appointment, the GP was very good

Review titled Excellent communications and consultation
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I found my appointment with GP to be well-organized and efficient, thanks to the convenient online scheduling process. The doctor maintained close oversight of my results, providing timely updates and discussions. I appreciated the clear plan for future appointments and tests. Overall, I felt that both the GP and the booking team demonstrated a patient-centred approach to my care.

Review titled Unacceptable service
Rated 1 star out of 5

In constant pain I needed blood tests before my medication could be changed. No blood test appointments until end of September so I went to bolton hospital for them. Received a request from doctor to book an appointment to review my blood tests, on the link they sent me, no appointments available. Went on the app, no appointments available. Phoned the surgery at 5:15pm, tenth in the queue!! And they're accepting new parents, try looking after the ones you have

Review titled been trying for months
Rated 1 star out of 5

been trying for months to get an appointment to no avail half the time I just dont get through when I do I'm informed that all the appointments have gone but I can try ringing 111 as they are allocated appointments for them. on occasions I've been told to just go to a&e if you're that bad (it's as if it's the receptionist who decides who can or cannot get an appointment. you have more chance of winning the lottery than getting an appointment here the whole place needs closing down and reopening as a real drs surgery instead of spending £1000s decorating and trying to make it look like an efficient surgery that its not

Review titled Virtually impossible to get appointments

Why in the world is this surgery still accepting new patients when it cannot service the ones it’s got… it’s not fair on patients, the staff or the doctors. They must stop accepting new patients and a new surgery is clearly needed for Westhoughton as its population has grown ridiculously due to the aggressive building drive.

Review titled Needs overhauling

I agree with other experience. Too many patients I’m told they rely on natural wastage. I don’t mean patients going elsewhere. NHS dentists do not take on patients when their books are full so why do GP’s. Another surgery is required but no one will do anything about it.
