First class service by all the staff from reception ,Doctor and nurse. It was easy to make an appointment and all treated me with courtesy and care.

Called the surgery this morning for help and advice with an ongoing condition. Even with problems with their telephone system my call was answered quickly and the assistant I spoke too was very helpful. Not long after the doctor rang me and advised me what to do next. I am very grateful for their efficiency and thank them for their help. Brilliant service thank you.

I visited the practice today, it was short notice as my appointment is not until 20th Nov, I was anxious so I popped in. The receptionist was the most caring person I'd ever come across, I forgot to get her name but he had very short white hair cut, She was so nice and is a credit to the practice, Thank you so much

I contacted the surgery in order to get hold of some dermervate cream as I am a chronic ezcema sufferer. I had to contact the surgery and the receptionist arranged an appointment with Boots Pharmacy at 4:30 pm that day via Pharmacy First. I got to the pharmacy only to be told that there was no such appointment booked. The Pharmacy did however give me a consultation but because it was only a consultation, the cream would have to be prescribed by my GP. I contacted the surgery. It was closed due to training so I contacted them again at the earliest opportunity due to my work hours only to be told there were no rotas up and I have to wait until this Friday (6th December 2024) to book an appointment and even then there is no guarantee I will get one within the next 2 weeks!!! I may add, the receptionist on this occasion was very rude and abrupt as well. I have now been waiting 3 weeks now for this ointment or an appointment and feel like I'm just being passed from pillar to post. This is not the first time I have had issues with this surgery.

I received some significant abnormal test results via text message, which in itself seemed rather unfeeling. The message suggested I discuss the result with my physio or make a routine appointment if I really needed to speak to a Dr. I hardly ever attend the surgery, so I'm not a nuisance and, in fact, have not been since the new Practice was formed so I am unfamiliar with the systems. I tried to get someone to help me with advice on pain relief and the way forward after the significant results but the best option the kind receptionist could offer was a telephone appointment in 15 days time. That's a long time to be struggling with the pain and worry about the result, but I guess that's what I'm supposed to do. I'm obviously not worth five minutes of someone's time on the phone. If the Dr had called about my results I could have very quickly asked what I needed to ask. I feel 'dumped' by the Practice and I am so concerned that I am reaching a time in my life when I might need some medical support from the NHS and it just isn't there. What a worry that is.

Dear Patient, I am very sorry that you have experienced difficulties in booking an appointment with a doctor following your test results on line. We provide pre-bookable routine telephone and face to face appointments and there is usually a wait of about 2 weeks for these. However we could certainly offer you an appointment on the day if you are in pain. We want to provide an appropriate appointment for you as soon as possible so please do call our reception again and they will book you in. I phoned the surgery at 8:30 yesterday morning needing advice on the best way to deal with my medical problem. The receptionist was very helpful and told me that a doctor would phone me at home. By mid morning I had received a call from a Dr , who asked me to come to the surgery for a discussion and examination. This took place and I was both listened to and reassured . Within half an hour, I was back at home with medication that has already taken effect. I realise that all NHS doctors’ practices are under enormous pressure at this time but I have to say that Weston House practice/Hatherly surgery has given first class service yet again.”

In July 2024 I decided to leave this practice was as a result of failure to get an appointment for an ear infection and I was given a telephone appointment for two weeks later. The final straw of ineffective and inefficient medical care came in October 2024 when I transferred to another GP practice and Weston House failed to forward my full medical history. Having been registered with Corinithian GPs for over 20 years, I was aware of a drop in standards when the practice changed to Weston House it became increasingly difficult to see a doctor and, while a few good new doctors joined, over the last 5 years this practice lost the really high quality practitioners who had been the bedrock of good medical care. This used to be a warm and welcoming practice and over the last few years, going into the waiting room felt more like entering a warzone, with threatening messages on display regarding violence. These messages are intimidating and aggressive and do nothing to reassure patients who are feeling vulnerable and fragile. I wish I had transferred to another GP practice many years ago and am saddened to leave this review of what once was a really effective service - but not any more.
