  2. Review titled Phone call

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After ringing at 10.30a.m and speaking to a receptionist I was told my symptoms would be sent to a doctor to review and get back to me. The call was also supported by a third party health provider who had recommended I contact my GP and they also messaged the surgery ahead of my call. After hearing nothing by approx 4.15p.m I rang back and the receptionist resent a message. Approx 6.15p.m and still nothing so I rang back and this time the receptionist sent a pop up message that the doctor would see immediately. 6.25p.m I got a call back from the receptionist telling me that the doctor thinks I should go to A&E as I might be having an allergic reaction. I cannot believe that a message supported by a health provider should have taken 8 hours to be read by a doctor and then for the doctor to expect a patient to spend possibly several hours in A&E because they have left it too late to see the patient. They could have seen me even minutes before they closed and prescribed something or maybe decided that it’s not an allergy and it’s a normal reaction to the previous days treatment with the third party. It took literally a couple of minutes to read the pop up, decide what was wrong on vague descriptions and get a receptionist to ring me back. Had that been done even an hour earlier I could have been seen by a GP and given a proper diagnosis instead of a ‘might be’ and the whole consultation would have taken a minute or two max. Instead I’m supposed to sit in A&E for hours picking up every virus going on top of the discomfort I’m in already. All of my interaction with the Whitehouse surgery up until now has been excellent and it’s such a shame that this time I have been let down. If this is/were an allergic reaction then it could have had serious consequences, hopefully it won’t have because after being left for 8 hours I am now going to sit it out rather than put myself at further risk at Mk hospital.

  3. Review titled Treated with utmost dignity

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Being a female patient having to see a male doctor (with a chaperone present), I was naturally very anxious, let alone worried about my medical problem. However, my doctor treated me with such dignity, patience and kindness. I am so glad I went through with the appointment and didn’t delay waiting for a female doctor. His bedside manner was just what you hope for in a doctor, a very human kindness and empathy. He put me at ease and was very reassuring and honest. I am so grateful for the doctor treating me so sensitively and warmly given how I had been feeling in the lead up to the appointment. I hope you know how much of a difference your manner makes to your patients. Thank you Doctor. I hope you know who you are! I am also very grateful to be at a practice where I feel confident I will be seen quickly if needed. Thank you to the admin staff.

  4. Review titled Worst service ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have a 3 years old daughter and she felt unwell last weekend having high temperature, pain on her ears and tummy and not eating solid food for a couple of days. We decided to ask for an appointment in this surgery and it was impossible and moreover the business manager that was on the door this morning trying that nobody access the surgery for a walking appointment was not useful at all asking us to call for booking an appointment and their lines didn't work in the whole morning. We were showing him that the system was not working and he didn't care saying that it works and that we can try later and that if not we can go to a&e. What's the point of having a surgery, ask for an appointment for a 3 years old girl and being pointed to a&e when this problem can be solved by giving an appointment on the same day at the surgery. I'm not asking about an appointment for me, she is a 3 years old girl! Finally my wife was there after trying at home calling around 50 times with no luck and at last we can have an appointment and they say the next one will be on 16th January!! Ridiculous! This is not acceptable for anyone. Our community deserves a better service and if it's an nhs issue we have to report these issues, otherwise the service will continue as is for a long time. It's not the first time that this happens and now that we have also a 1 month old baby I don't want to be in the same situation so we have decided to move to a different surgery where the feedback received from the people already registered there and that we know is that you can have an appointment for the same day or the day after for your children. They play with our health, with our lives and the behaviour of the business manager this morning with the 4 persons that we were at 8am looking for an appointment was far from being professional. My wife also asked for raising a complaint and they gave her a blank sheet! Joking on her face. And I know there are good professionals on this surgery and helpful people, but it was not the case today and in many other occasions. And the same feeling is shared by many of us in our community, so this is not a problem for 1 day, it's happening on a daily basis and I really hope that the people that will continue at this surgery at some point receive a better service

  5. Review titled Thank you

I have been under your care for over a month now. Due to my operation I have been in every other day. It is an eye opener. I have witnessed a lot of abuse and threats given to your reception team and it is most disappointing a lot of people think that a cold is a must see a DR. It is unfortunate in this current climate that the community seems to be eager to attack this surgery without a second thought. I have found on the other hand this surgery to be professional, friendly and very helpful. In fact when I was ill and I fell your surgery caught me and picked me up. When my wife and child was ill you caught them too. You acted promptly to get me seen by the hospital and your nurses have been great whilst dressing my wound. They have been knowledgeable and seeked Dr's advice when required. Even when my child has come into the surgery with me as I had no one to look after her all the team was friendly with her. To the extent my little one loves playing Dr and Nurses with her teddies turning our front room into a surgery. I am writing this email as I wanted to let you know dispite some of the community complaining etc that there are some of us out there that feel you are doing the best you can in exceptional circumstances. We appreciate it too. Please pass on mine and my families thanks for all you have done for us and we really hope things get better soon. If I can help in anyway please just ask. Have a great Christmas.... Keep up the excellent work.
