  1. Review titled Not happy with the communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 February 2025

I had an appointment with the GP and was unable to make it due to an emergency family situation. I had been trying to cancel the appointment days before by clicking the link on the confirmation text message. That link didn't work and only gave me an option to print the details of the appointment. But it says on the text, if you want to cancel appointment please use the link so that doesn't work. Then I tried to call the practice from 3 days before my appointment, every single day until the day of appointment. But no response I was on the queue more than 30 as always. So I couldn't attend the appointment. On the day after the appointment time, I received a text message saying that I didn't attend my appointment and failed to cancel it ,so if I continue to do so I will be removed from the practice list. It was soo harsh the language how they put it in a text. Nobody wants to cancel GP appointment as we all know how precious it is and how hard to get one. Unless there is a genuine reason I wouldn't have missed mine too. Without making changes in their booking and cancelling systems it's not kind to send texts like that to people. I work in nhs too and understand the pressure but it was disgusting.

  2. Review titled Too long to wait

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 February 2025

My usual prescription ran out in January 2025. You would assume the surgery would be in touch for the reassessment and ongoing prescription. Not so, you have to get in touch with them and the earliest appointment with a doctor would be 1 May 2025. I now have to go to the surgery to pick up a prescription notice to be forwarded to Tesco via the surgery. This has to be continued until my designated appointment. What a waste of time for not only myself but the surgery. I have asked for the appointment to be brought forward but nothing available. My reassessment appointment lasts approximately 5 mins, yet to wait 4 months is unrealistic. I would suggest that automatic reassessment be organised for the patient without them having to do the work themselves. Considering each time I visit there is hardly anyone waiting to see a GP and all is very quiet. So why aren’t more patients being seen? We are being told surgeries cannot cope, but find it very difficult to believe this statement.

Attended with my wife for BT analysis. The nurse we saw was highly professional in every aspect and went the extra mile to explain any queries we had . An extremely pleasant lady who is an asset to this practice. Appointment on time .

  7. Review titled Appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

After being with this practice over 40 years I have never been so disgusted with the uncaring attitude of the Receptionists and gps. They are supposed to provide a service a d in their job care! I had a phone appointment - no time given just anytime in the day - I explained I will be in a classroom at work will they try if I missed a call. I was assured they would try several times. I missed the call and could not hear/understand the message left. I rang back and explained this and asked for a call back as I didn't know what the gp had said. No call - surprise! I went in just after 4.30 and told not down for a call back the gp had rung and left a message. Despite my explanation that I had rung and said I couldn't hear the message and that although a prescription was to be issued, my request for it to be on repeat was ignored as was my request for it to be increased as my nerve pain had become worse. The receptionists were so uncaring, very quick to offer me a complaint form when I asked to see the practice manager (whom conveniently had just left) and refused to message the gp to ask if he could kindly ring me. What happened to providing a service and caring? So got to ring and be in a queue for at least half an hour or queue outside - again! Am disgusted.

  8. Review titled Great mental health review

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah Naylor - Posted on 16 October 2024

I felt quite anxious as it was my first mental health review since switching to this practice recently and I didn’t know what to expect, but I was made to feel really comfortable. Time was taken to listen to me properly, and I left feeling that it had been a really positive and worthwhile interaction. Thank you so much for your time and care.

  9. Review titled No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Debs - Posted on 17 July 2024

You never get appointments at this practice. I understand the NHS is currently strained but so are the individuals calling to book appointments! They keep saying respect our staff but the practice obviously needs to remind their receptionists to accord the same respect to patients. Their current attitude is disrespectful, unapologetic and lack empathy. I have been with this practice less than a year and I call at 8am but never get offered same day appointment. We are full to capacity is the usual response. Please can you explain the criteria for offering same day appointments? Trying again today, I have been on the line since 8am, number 2 on the queue. As I type this at 8:46, I am still in queue position 1, no one is answering the call.

  10. Review titled No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 July 2024

It is impossible to get appointments. I get that the NHS is under pressure but if you phone in at 8am no one answers. I have waited on the phone for 45mins in queue position 4. I went in to book a future appointment and was told that I need to come in at 8am to book one. It seems a bit bizarre that to book an appointment they don’t use the telephone but require you to come into the surgery. What a huge waste of my time! Their appointment system doesn’t help those who need to be at work at 8am or those without transport. The receptionist I dealt with could do with some training as her manner of communication was poor and lacked empathy.
