    saw my gp today for an annual review. as always she checked me over and was very thorough. she was professional but caring throughout, very happy that I am now a patient at widcombe surgery.

    Used this service for the first time and it worked well. Had previously spoken to the surgery receptionist who explained how the system would work so that helped with planning my day. Phone call was received before 10.30 with a very pleasant and empathetic doctor. Saved so much time and a reassuring way forward was planned

    Three times in the last year my family have needed to see a doctor. All three times we've been told by the receptionist that there are no appointments available for the next six weeks, and they don't take bookings further ahead, but if I ring next week there might be a cancellation. All three times I rang a week later and there were still no appointments. Receptionist just suggested I try the week after again. I went to a private GP instead, one of the cases ended up in a cancer diagnosis.

    I registered with this practice around a year ago, and everyone I’ve met at the surgery so far, from the reception staff, to the nursing staff, as well as several of the GPs who I’ve met with, have all, quite honestly, been wonderful! Compared to some previous surgeries I’ve used in the past (when I’ve lived in other cities) this truly seems to be a surgery in a whole other league! The staff are friendly, personable, and most importantly, they genuinely seem to care and want to do their utmost to help you! The staff also seem to work really well together as a united team, and they seem to care about supporting one another. This means that there is always a nice convivial atmosphere in the surgery too which is very reassuring. I have several long-term health conditions myself, and quite complex medical needs which take quite a lot of management. Nevertheless, I’ve never felt rushed, or dismissed, and I’ve always felt understood, supported, and reassured that the staff are doing their very best to try to help. At times, I’ve been completely astounded by the amount of time the doctors have given me! They seem to go the extra mile, and they have been happy to explain things fully where needed. They make follow up calls, and write very helpful and supportive evidence letters where needed too, and they are exceptionally good communicators in my opinion. I genuinely feel that the staff at this surgery go above and beyond the call of duty, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, especially to anyone who has a chronic condition, a disability or some complex health needs which require particularly careful management from a team of sensitive and compassionate staff. The team at Widcombe Surgery are a credit to the NHS! Thanks gang!

    I have been registered with this Practice for 13 years and have currently had some medical health issues that can cause erratically occurring panic attacks. The reception team have been exceptionally efficient, kind and confidence inspiring; supporting me and liaising with my doctor, who always goes the extra mile to address and reassure me regarding my symptoms. I really appreciate the quality of staff in this friendly local Practice. Thank you so much.

    I was very impressed by the partner doctor who saw me regarding my “tiredness”. She was very thorough and kind in her assessment. Due to nurse shortages she took my blood, and although this took some time (perhaps the practice could consider longer appointments for the nursing staff for phlebotomy!?) and discussed my case holistically and she did not rush. I was very pleased with the care I received

    Triaged to the appropriate clinician by the wonderful receptionist I am super pleased to have experienced first hand cheerfulness, efficiency and a voice who spoke volumes as to how passionate they are to provide a seemless service. Generally the receptionist is the initial forefront of any GP practice to help and support you through your enquiries and I feel that I have already been treated as an individual with respect and understanding.

    Due to a recent illness I have attended the practice on a few occasions over the last few weeks. I have to say that all the staff that I have spoken to either on the phone, at reception or in my appointments have been so kind and caring. People are often quick to complain in this day and age especially about the NHS but based on my experience, I would recommend Widcombe Surgery to anyone. I feel very fortunate to be have been looked after by such a wonderful group of people. Thank you for everything that you do.

    I recently made an appointment at Widcombe surgery because I felt very lethargic and my blood pressure was high, and the service I got was wonderful! The doctor who saw to me didn’t have any space left available and only worked a few days a week in the Surgery but she kindly saw me right at the end of her shift. Not only was she empathetic and kind, she was extremely helpful at explaining my blood results and helped me understand that I have Hypothyroidism. As someone who suffers with Anxiety she answered all of my questions without hesitation, she didn’t hide anything from me but she somehow made the experience less scary and definitely put my mind at ease. Not only did I feel like I got one hundred percent of her time and attention, she quickly got me the medication I required and made sure I left the Sugery happy with an understanding of what would come next. I came to write a review about the doctor but I can’t miss out the rest of the staff who were lovely too. The receptionist greeted me with a huge smile like she was happy to see me and the nurses who I have seen in the past have always been kind. I will be recommending Widcombe Surgery to anyone who asks!! Lovely atmosphere, kind and happy staff and very helpful…they help make the NHS look great!
