Review titled Depression inducing gp service.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 November 2024
I struggle alot with my mental health and have said to doctors before that I find it hard to speak on the phone due to my mental health issues. They never care. Recently I have taken turn for the worst and have felt very low. Last month received txt from gp to book routine appointment ? I rang and waited in the queue one day, to be told I will be rang back - i was not, I rang again to be told that i have been placed in the queue for call back - no call back , I have rang yet again to be told that it's my fault and they will rebook call back - nothing, yet again happened but I got an txt saying I do not need to see gp no more. Yesterday I again received the same text from gp. Today.. I have rang the gp , receptionist is as rude as always telling me to ring again tomorrow. It is depressing, I do not know why the gp wants me? Then does not. It has been stress inducing ,especially ringing the cold receptionists at 8am for them to just never ring you back or put you in the queue. Great.

My 4 year old daughter became unwell at 6pm in the evening, I called the practice and even though they had no appointments left I was offered an appointment with the local pharmacy through pharmacy first. Within 10 minutes of my call to the practice my daughter was being seen by the local pharmacist. Fantastic service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Review titled Appauling
Rated 1 star out of 5

1st time at this medical centre, hopefully my last, the receptionist was so rude, people would hear her talking to somebody non the phone, she was rude and agressive to whoever she was talking to, the receptionsit slammed the phone down, went into a back room and all the staff? started laughing, the receptionist in question certainly needs to be spoken to about the attitude and agressiveness she showed, people having their blood pressure taken in the waiting room behind a flimsy screen, surely that should be done in private, I cannot stress how appauling my experience has been

On behalf of the surgery I would like to apologise for the experience you had when you entered the Reception. Could you contact me via the surgery email: woodsidemc.m86034@nhs.net to confirm the time you were in the Reception area and was this on the 5th April. If you mark the email for the attention of the Business Manager I can then see who was working on that day and address the issues you have raised. This is not the reception would expect to be given to anyone entering Woodside Medical Centre.

Review titled 'Poor communication system'
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 December 2023
I am a medical secretary working in a Hospital in the NHS. I had an urgent query regarding a patient and I had to wait in a queue with 30 people in. I waited for over an hour and was still 20 in the queue. I had to hung up as we do not have the time or luxury to wait in a queue for 2 to 3 hours and cannot block our phone lines in case other patients need us. This is unacceptable. We are so busy ourselves. Why should we wait for 2 hours just to get in touch with them. They need to do something about this. They should provide hospitals with an email address or alternative numbers.

I am sorry to hear that you had trouble getting through on our telephone line recently. We are currently implementing a new triage template which will eventually be used by all surgeries and as this is new it is, unfortunately, taking longer than normal to answer each telephone call. We do have a callback feature, explained on our telephone system, this enables callers to press 1 for a callback. This may not have helped you if your phone system at the Hospital would have shown the main hospital number. We have added a message on our telephone system explaining this. With regard to an email address, our main surgery email is woodsidemc.m86034@nhs.net and this is manned 8.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Monday to Friday. This is advertised on our website and is also on our letterhead. We do have another direct line, however this is for Emergency calls only. Regards Practice Manager

How many times have booked an appointment for a simple injection - even arriving 10 minutes early - I am still left waiting only to be told that my injections have run out Surely someone could have texted me to say they do not have a prescribed injection Very poor communication

We are sorry to hear that you were unable to have an injection recently, due to supplies running out. I have spoken to the Nurses and they are not aware of any injections running out recently. Could you contact us via the surgery email: woodsidemc.m86034@nhs.net confirming the date you came in and your details so that this can be investigated further.

Review titled Unhelpful

I rang to request a blood form as advised by lipid clinic, receptionist refused to ask GP for blood test as letter omitted to say one was needed, essentially saying I was making it up so would have to waste a GP appt to discuss. An appt wasn’t necessary but receptionist wasn’t even prepared to ask GP. Such a waste of everybody’s time for something so simple

Review titled Outstanding care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tracey - Posted on 28 April 2023
In my opinion Woodside is an exceptional practice. I am lucky enough not to have to bother the Drs much, but in the last month I have outstanding care.I had a telephone call with a male dr who didn’t rush me and was sympathetic and caring. Then unfortunately I mislaid my meds and as I was going on holiday telephoned reception and was greeted with a very helpful receptionist called Mary, who was empathetic and helpful. The duty Dr kindly issued me a script all within 1 hour.I know how busy all the staff are and appreciated the care and kindness. Well done Woodside
