Review titled Extremely frustrating
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 March 2023
I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed that not only it is near impisdible to get through to the surgery via phone but once you need a blood test, it regularly doesn't get forwarded to the system. It is now 3rd time we went to QE2 for blood test appointment only to be turned away because there is no request from GP on the system.

Dear Patient I am really sorry about your blood test not being on the system. If you had contacted the surgery at the time, we could have looked into it for you. Telephoning later in the morning or afternoon, when the telephones are not so busy should get your through much quicker. Kind regards Sylvia Lane Practice Manager

Review titled Phone Frustration
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Frank Bowron - Posted on 02 March 2023
I’ve been trying to get an appointment for 3 days. On the first try, I called in the afternoon as the website suggests, and got a reply in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I learned this is only for same day urgent evening appointments and was told to call in the morning. For Wednesday and today the phone rang for 30 minutes and timed out 3 times - 90 minutes and I was unable to get through. I then tried an on-line booking via Patient Access but after entering my ID and password you are asked for 3 letters from your long forgotten memorable word. When resetting the favourite word you are sent a code by text message. By the time the code came through it had expired. After five attempts I was locked out. So, on-line booking doesn’t work either. This is very frustrating, but I realise it is just the same at any other surgery. What to do?

Dear Mr Bowron I am very sorry that you have had a terrible time trying to get through on our telephones. They are extremely busy first thing in the morning and it usually eases off from approximately 11.00 am. You can try doing an e consult which is accessible from our website. These are usually responded to on the same day or the next working day. Kind regards Sylvia Lane Practice Manager

Review titled Great Practice
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Dr Ju-lee Hong - Posted on 12 July 2023
It is reassuring to have a practice that tries to accommodate patients when possible. The best way to seek advice from practitioners is through online consultation because of the short-staffed reception. At the same time, the receptionists are otherwise responsive and welcoming and respectfully handle patients' requests. The practitioners' diagnoses and referrals have been most effective and helpful. Their post-op investigation and skills in translating medical jargon terms into plain English have been most resourceful and supportive.

Review titled Really happy
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Really pleased I managed to get an appointment on the same morning I needed one. Receptionist was very accommodating and found me an earlier appointment that suited me better. Doctor was excellent. Listened to my symptoms, took time to diagnose (I never felt hurried at all), Explained what she thought might be wrong and told me to rest up and let the medicines take effect. Would also like to mention the pharmacist at boots who took time to talk me through how to use my medicines safely and effectively.

When I phoned up to ask a question, I was put on hold for about 10 minutes. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and answered my questions. I was given the advice I was seeking and I got a telephone call appointment for the same evening. I spoke to one of the nurses Kate who was very helpful and pleasant to speak to.

Review titled great service.

Having suffered for some time with pain in my shoulder I decided to see my GP. On ringing the surgery, I was given an appt to see a physiotherapist (2 days later!). He examined me and diagnosed tendonitis. I was given excercises to do and advise. That evening the pain seemed even worse. I did an E-consult and the Dr called me the next morning. I was prescribed analgesia. The Dr explained everything to me. I am very impressed with the care I've had but do miss the face to face contact.
