  1. Review titled Efficient and reassuring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Knowles - Posted on 04 June 2024

My husband had a mini stroke at home on 2/6/24. The ambulance with two paramedics arrived promptly and they were both fantastic at alleviating our anxiety, monitoring my husband and then transferring him comfortably and at speed to hospital. Our experience was of an outstanding service - professional and compassionate.

  2. Review titled Brilliant bedside manner

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Robin Parkes - Posted on 22 June 2024

My wife has Alzheimer’s and is a resident of Aspen Manor care home, Oakham. An ambulance was called today at about 1430 hrs as she had passed out. The Emergency responder attended the care home. He was professional, genuinely caring and spent some time reassuring my wife whilst he did his initial examination. Because my wife has a fairly advanced stage of Alzheimer’s she is very suspicious of people, including her regular carers. All credit to the first responder, she was more than happy for him to examine her, and similarly with the Ambulance crew who attended later. I just wanted to record how grateful I was for his support this afternoon, and the double crew who attended later. Thanks fell’s

  3. Review titled You saved my life

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Brian Hawken- - Posted on 11 June 2024

I woke early one morning at 5.30am feeling most unwell and my wife quickly contacted 111/999. The Loughborough Paramedic girls arrived very quickly and got me to Leicester Glenfield Hospital at high speed. I had had a serious heart attack. The hospital team were waiting for me and I had the procedure with a stent inserted by 0900hrs. The speed of the treatment throughout saved my life and I was allowed home after 4 days having been told that that my heart had been saved from any material damage. Thank you to everyone who saved my life, especially to the Ambulance paramedics who got me to hospital so quickly. I would love to know who the two ladies were who arrived and got me there so quickly. Any chance? Thank you all. The NHS is marvellous.

Dear Brian Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with us. We do hope you are feeling better now and are delighted to hear that our ambulance crews were able to help you in what must have been a scary time for you. We are very proud of our ambulance crews. We have been able to locate the 999 call and so have already logged this as a compliment in our database and sent the attending crews your kind words of thanks. Crews love to hear what impact they have had on patients and their families and we really are grateful when people take time to share their patient stories. 5. Review titled Fantastic Ambulance crew

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris - Posted on 18 June 2024

The 2 lady’s who took me from the care centre to the hospital are a credit to the NHS. I couldn’t have asked for better care . We had a 2 hour wait and they looked after me so well. Everyone from Corby care centre to Kettering general was fantastic. The NHS gets such poor press at times but from my experience I feel truly thankful.

  6. Review titled Prompt, efficient service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 June 2024

Unfortunately NHS 111 felt they needed to send an ambulance for me 2 days running to check I was ok due to my symptoms, I had the same crew both days. They arrived promptly within minutes both days, a very efficient service and they were able to put my mums mind at ease about my health. The paramedics did a thorough assessment with dignity and they prevented me needing to go to hospital which would have caused considerable distress and been incredibly traumatic due to my complex needs, which I’m very grateful for. I was very worried and felt guilty about taking up an ambulance from someone seriously unwell but they were able to provide reassurance that I wasn’t in any danger physically, give us support contacts and they contacted the crisis team on my behalf. Reliable, efficient service - you’re in good hands with knowledgable paramedics if you were to encounter an emergency or crisis situation. I was advised when they came out to me the day before that it would be recommended that I am transported to hospital for further testing / treatment due to my symptoms just as a precaution. This occurred promptly, the paramedic was knowledgable, helpful and answered all my questions while on route. My 2nd visit to hospital had a far more positive outcome than my 1st visit at the weekend and I was well cared for and came away feeling much better.

  7. Review titled Wonderful Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Barbara Berridge - Posted on 25 June 2024

On 23rd May this year I was met by 2 Paramedics at my Mother -in -law's bedside at her care home. The Senior Carer had recognised deterioration with my MIL and had called 999. The ambulance had arrived very quickly, and the Paramedics moved quickly in recognising possible sepsis and fast AF. I went in the ambulance with my MIL to try and help prevent further distress as she has advanced vascular dementia. The Paramedic in the back of the ambulance commenced iv pain relief and monitored her condition all the way to PCH. On arrival at the hospital my MIL was taken straight into Resus where she was quickly assessed, a chest x ray and bloods taken and treatment commenced with iv antibiotics, fluids with caution due to her congestive heart failure. I was kept informed by the Paramedic as soon as was possible Without the prompt action of the Paramedics my MIL might not have survived to return to her care home over a week later. My husband and I are extremely grateful and indebted to the professional and very caring Paramedics on that day. Thank you sincerely.

  9. Review titled Really good tesponsivecservice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jack McConnochie - Posted on 16 April 2024

Phoned 999 requesting ambulance for my wife who was in AF, struggling, and needing urgent medical care. Telephone responder was good listener, and assessed the situation quickly and accurately. Within 4 minutes of my call ending an ambulance was at the door. Caring and very professional response by both members of the ambulance team. My wife was then blue lighted to LRI where the medical intervention was quick, caring, and again totally professional, and effective. We cannot thank the NHS enough and are grateful we are blessed with such a good Health Service.

  10. Review titled Quick response

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary Atkinson - Posted on 16 April 2024

I was upstairs in study. During a Zoom meeting I fainted. It occurred when i suddenly stood up and lifted my lap top to top of filing cabinet then sat down. Zoom friends phoned for ambulance but when it came I already recovered and spoke to responders from open window saying I was ok. As I had fainted in past (heart prob) I knew I was ok and no need for help. Please pass on my thanks to paramedics
