Review titled Appendicectomy
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tom Hyland-Hawkins - Posted on 05 September 2023
I arrived on Sunday at the accident and emergency department with a suspected appendicitis. I was seen extremely quickly and sent to ward d6 where I was initially looked after. Shortly after that I was moved to ward l2 where I spent the duration of my stay. The staff were professional, kind, helpful and extremely friendly. I had my appendix removed on the next day. When I arrived back on the ward I was again looked after very well, being offered food and drink and making sure I was comfortable. I was discharged early Tuesday morning. I had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend the hospital. I would like to massively thank all staff involved with my stay at Addenbrookes, especially all the nurses and healthcare professionals on ward l2.

Review titled Wonderful experience at CUH Breast Clinic
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kayleigh Allen - Posted on 06 September 2023
I had to visit the Breast Clinic after suffering mastitis and the team of nurses, assistants and sonographer were brilliant. I was made to feel valued and listened to, and the staff were clearly very knowledgeable and experienced. I felt in safe hands and they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The only negative I have is I did have to wait over 2 hours past my appointment time, but it was worth the wait. Just make sure to clear your day of plans if necessary as you may have to wait as they are extremely busy.

Review titled Professional and caring
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jane Helliwell - Posted on 17 August 2023
I was sent to A & E after telephoning 111 in the early hours of last Saturday morning and from the moment I arrived I received nothing but kindness and professional help from everyone I met. The service was simply outstanding and I want to thank all involved. Despite it being the end of their shifts every member of staff was caring and supportive from the health care assistants, radiologists, ECG nurse, clinicians and then the brilliant and kind doctor who diagnosed my pneumonia. The 111 service was excellent too, passing me onto a clinician who was equally good. We are so very fortunate to have such a wonderful NHS and such amazing staff working within it. I do hope there is a way that this review is passed on to those people who were working early last Saturday morning so they know how much they were appreciated. Thank you.

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jeffers Collinwood Mayo - Posted on 31 August 2023
I attended Urology at very short notice to have my nephrostomy removed on the 30.08.2023. I arrived at approximately 10.30 and left just after 12.00. The nurse and her assistant were very friendly and very professiona (and very helpful). This was a very smooth "Rolls Royce" service.

Review titled Very efficient
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Roberta Rose - Posted on 31 August 2023
Today I visited Addenbrookes for the first time. We went to clinic . Having broken my wrist I needed direction and help to find places. I was taken to plaster room by very nice man. The ladies and fellas in the plaster room were all kind, courteous, gentle kind and informative. Had my plaster changed even got to choose a colour. As I’m going on holiday soon they put a suitable plaster on that expands during your flight. Again another thoughtful thing they did. Off to X-ray. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Back to see the consultant to have a chat about my X-rays had positive news. Came away feeling so confident that I’d been treated with care. Thank you all so much.

Orthopaedics foot and ankle waiting list: I was referred to Orthopaedics foot and ankle waiting list August 2023. As of 8 January 2024 I have not heard anything since November 2023 when I confirmed that I still need this appointment. There is no contact email address or phone number published. I am still awaiting that consult. As of January 2024, I still need this initial consult please.

Review titled Long wait.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2024
I was referred to Foot and Ankle Orthopaedics by my GP in 2020, 2021, and then followed up where my GP referred me again in August 2023. After a 3 1/2, nearly 4 year wait, I still have not had an initial NHS consult despite making a formal complaint to CQC in April 2021 about the malunion fracture having initially been missed in Addenbrookes A&E (sent to Urgent Treatment Centre without xray or examination) on 14 April 2020. My last followup was in November 2023 when I confirmed that I still needed that NHS appointment: that NHS appointment never happened. I note the wait is listed as 53 weeks - but April 2020 to February 2024, is ballpark, 4x50, ie 200 weeks.
