  1. Review titled Excellent nurses in the Colposcopy Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Carter - Posted on 11 October 2022

I just wanted to pass on my thanks to the nurses in the Colposcopy Team of the Women’s Health Unit who provided me with excellent care today. They took the time to make me feel at ease during a very stressful situation and explained everything so that I understood what was happening and the next steps. You all made a very unpleasant situation so much more easier to deal with, thank you so much!

  2. Review titled Great attention

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Grateful - Posted on 24 September 2022

I got the cotton part of a cotton bud stuck in my ear and attended A&E on a Saturday afternoon. I was seen and out in under an hour. Very calm, professional people plus advice given to avoid a repeat. Thankyou NHS, you are all an asset to us as a country and society.

  3. Review titled Thank you A&E and the ambulance service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Madeline Spencer - Posted on 22 August 2022

I was admitted with a suspected heart attack and although this proved unfounded I was treated with the utmost care and was thoroughly investigated. The staff was kind, considerate and empathic in spite of the pressure they were under in a very busy department. Also, a thank you to the paramedics who bought me to the hospital. They do a wonderful job and are really appreciated.

  4. Review titled Empathy dignity and respect

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 July 2022

The NHS' own standards include a commitment to patients being treated with empathy, dignity and respect. This was not my experience on my outpatients visit for an investigation. Nursing staff in the main were very professional, however the hospital needs to look at attitudes and behaviours at the consultant level, as to whether they genuinely aim to provide the patient with a positive experience when they are feeling very vulnerable. It should never be the case that the patient is treated roughly and spoken to in an irritated way that leaves the patient upset. I would be very reluctant to return to this department, and should the need arise will seek an alternative. You need to get more detailed feedback which this forum doesn't allow for, but you could and should ask staff for their observations on whether the consultants they are supporting are up to the mark, and whether they should be retrained, when their attitude and behaviour is negatively impacting the patient experience.
