  1. Review titled Busy Times

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 January 2025

It was 2nd January 2025 and it was busy, busy, busy when I arrived at midday to the A&E ward, following a referral from the GP. The staff were excellent and helped me as soon as I got there, within 5 minutes I had seen a nurse who gave me some oxygen, and some lady things that I hadn't been able to get before coming in. I then saw the triage nurse straight away who sent me through to the GP ward which was professional, friendly and calm and within 10 minutes I had a ECG, bloods done and was booked for an x-ray. I saw the consultant within 4 hours of being in and unfortunately I had to stay in overnight for observations and treatment. No beds were available on any wards and I had to go back to A&E as the GP ward shut at 8.00pm. Thanks to the staff I got a trolley in the escalation ward and then went through to another ward on A&E until a bed became available for me at 4.30am on E floor, otherwise I would have been sat on a chair in A&E which would not have been a good idea considering the condition I was in. The staff are absolutely amazing and caring and friendly despite some really horrible abuse that they get from some people which I witnessed first hand. You can tell that the NHS is under stress and the building is not fit for purpose, but they do the best they can and I am very grateful for all of the help I got despite lack of sleep. Thank you all of you, it is very much appreciated.

  2. Review titled Fantastic support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andrew Lowe - Posted on 30 January 2025

Thank you to the midwives who supported my wife and I this evening when our unborn baby had been moving less than normal. We arrived after calling the out of hours support line and were seen to immediately. All was well in the end after getting the machine to work and check all was okay. The service we received from the team was outstanding and we felt compelled to send a note of thanks on returning home.

  3. Review titled Super ENT team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Denise Mills - Posted on 09 January 2025

Visited ENT 8th Jan. Appointment was on time and very professional and empathic support staff. Consultant was super knowledgeable and very reassuring, great bedside manner. Bloods were then needed as part of the appointment, this was unplanned. I was guided along to pathology and waited no more than 10 minutes. Again the nurse practitioner was super professional and extremely kind. All in all the entire visit took 30 minutes. A letter confirming the suspected illness and next steps arrived the same afternoon via online nhs app. Today (9th Jan), I received my follow-up phone appointment with the consultant for next month. Fantastic service all round and I am eternally grateful. Well done nhs!

  4. Review titled Above and beyond

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Helen W - Posted on 27 November 2024

I attended the clinic today as part of some ongoing investigations. When I arrived for my appointment the nurse commented on my sore eye and I explained that I felt let down by primary care and after two days was still waiting for antibiotics. She suggested I discuss my eye problem with the gastroenterology consultant at the end of the appointment. Long story short, I left with a prescription and was very relieved and grateful that there are still people that will go above and beyond to help. Thank you both so much!

  5. Review titled Amazing I can’t thank the staff enough

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Robyn Boother - Posted on 01 November 2024

I really want the girls to know how much I appreciated how amazing they were for the birth of my little girl. They were so caring in the antenatal and in the labour ward and just went totally above and beyond. They listened to me with everything and just made my birth such a positive experience. Thankyou all ever so much.

  6. Review titled Grateful for a caring and smiley team!

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Caring team with smiles - Posted on 29 September 2024

I was recently admitted to the Women's gyane ward following some health complications and I was sincerely impressed with the attentive, caring and empathetic team. There is no doubt that the team are very busy but they try their best to accommodate requests to be helpful. The team of nurses, health assistants, house keeper, cleaners and ward team were smiley, friendly, reassuring and helpful. They are a credit to the NHS and exhibit wonderful values of care, compassion and considerate.

  7. Review titled Felt very cared for by sensitive and professional staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Lucy G - Posted on 23 September 2024

I came 4 surgery to mend a fractured elbow, there for barely 24 hours; all nursing & support staff in D ward were kind, gentle and patient with me whilst maintaining high professional standards. I felt I was a valued customer; they explained things well and were reassuring when I had queries. Prior to admission I had professional & reassuring support by phone from the lady on Ortho Reception and later, also by phone, the Trauma Co-ordinator who both recognised my anxiety and took great trouble by keeping in touch by phone prior to admission. On the Ward, Doctor N & Nurse S were 2 names I particularly noted for their calmness & patience but all ward staff - medical and admin had similarly high standards of patient care - I just can't memorise all their names!

  8. Review titled A wonderful nurse and doctor in A&E Basingstoke

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Mr & Mrs R C Kapoor - Posted on 13 September 2024

Unfortunately my elderly wife had a fall and cut her head badly. I drove to a&e at 4.30 am, the wound was deep and bleeding profusely, it was bandaged up whilst we waited to be seen. When we were seen, one nurse in particular, initials N.a, was so kind and helpful, she cleaned my wifes wound and very carefully washed all the blood from her long hair. She was so caring and gentle, we felt like she was an angel. The last Doctor that saw us Dr R, was also a great help and very caring when she did my wifes stitches. A huge thank you, to you both, your kindness and assistance with a smile, was much appreciated in a very challenging time for us. God bless.

  9. Review titled Car Park and Steps

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 September 2024

Car park lets people in when no spaces. People driving round and round Also three flights of concrete steps to get to entrance level is a terrifying experience for elderly not very mobile people like me. And when puddly like it was today it is positively dangerous. When driving out I saw a lady slip and fall on the zebra crossing between two of the flights. She struggled to get up. Really dangerous and it shouldn’t be like this.
