  1. Review titled Microbiology - Constant Screw Ups

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 May 2023

I have been suffering from a UTI since March. Each and every single sample the results have been "mixed growth". I know it is possible to get a definitive lab result as other hospitals such as in London, are able to test my urine and I am able to start treatment. I have gone 6 weeks without treatment and now my UTI has spread to my kidneys. As any clinician knows, you don't start antibiotics until you know what you are treating. So no, I haven't been treated yet. Either due to incompetence or laziness this lab consistently refuses to test my urine samples correctly. And don't get me started how they tend to lose samples on a fairly regular basis.

  2. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Bill Veloz - Posted on 29 April 2023

Had to go in for an angiogram. It was all over while I was waiting for them to start. Absolutely painless, and nothing wrong into the bargain. Excellent care in the short stay Heart Centre. I was there five hours and was well looked after. I didn't need anything, but it would have been supplied if I did. New building, spotless, and well organised. Tip top. Well done everybody.

  4. Review titled Experience with virtual wards from chest infection

    by Amymg68 - Posted on 07 March 2023

I was transfer from Basingstoke hospital to the virtual ward service over the weekend so I could be monitored for my infection from the comfort of my own home. I was called that weekend by a nurse to check my welfare and my symptoms. it made me feel at ease to have this kind of support. It can be overwhelming sometimes dealing with multiple conditions. The nurses looked into my medications and talked me through to help me get a better understanding of what i needed to take which took a weight off my shoulders so i could focus on my recovery.

  6. Review titled Still waiting for the voicemail

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 March 2023

I had a telephone appointment this morning, I had taken my phone everywhere with me this morning to ensure that I did not miss the call. A hour after the appointment time I thought I would check on patient hub appointments, it said that I did not attend the appointment. I called the coordinators, within minutes the Dr then called me and said he had called me multiple times and left a voicemail message. I checked my phone again no one had tried to call me and no voicemail message left. I can only assume the voicemail was left on someone elses phone and not mine!

  7. Review titled Amazing team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris - Posted on 15 May 2023

I've had four or five procedures within the old cath lab and the new building. I've also spent a night on the CCU. Each time the level of care and professionalism from the whole team has been outstanding. Many thanks to all the staff working in the background in additional to the medical teams.

  8. Review titled Fell over backwards into bath,

    by Marcel 12 - Posted on 29 March 2023

Unable to get out of bath, managed to knock on the bath to get my son attention. Who managed to lift me out. Very shaken and back hurt. Went to bed. Next day felt very sore muzzy head. Coped over weekend but phoned doctor on Monday he saw me straight away and he decided that I needed to go to hospital for a scan, by 10.00 a.m. I was at A&E and was seen to immediately, straight away taken for scan and check up, staff and doctors excellent explained exactly what was going to happen and checked me over. While waiting for results got moved to a side ward and kept an eye on. Extremely lucky nothing broken , two nurses come in to check if I was fit to go home. Then I was discharged. I certainly had first class treatment. When home I had phone calls every few days checking up on me. Well done Basingstoke NHS .
