  1. Review titled Friendly knowledgeable staff efficient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jill - Posted on 13 March 2024

I was seen in the respiratory department both October 2023 and Monday the 11th October. I was very impressed with the service on both occasions. Friendly Health Care Assistants greeted me and did the routine checks weight Blood pressure Pulse and Oxygen recordings On the 1st occasion the Dr called me in to the room introducing herself by her full name . She listened and did her medical examination. She was very reassuring and said she’d arrange for a chest CT and Echocardiogram and said I’d been seen for the results. The CT was done within a week and the Echocardiogram in under 4 weeks. My follow ip appointment the one recently again the same with the HCAs being cheerful and efficient. Again I was called in by a consultant a very pleasant gentleman who again introduced himself listened informed me of the results and a plan of what would happen next with regard to some further investigations and the plan he wanted to do. He asked if I wanted to ask any questions again was very reassuring. At no time was I made to feel rushed or uncomfortable but felt perfectly relaxed. All the staff seemed relaxed but efficient and pleasant. Today we appreciate the pressure that the NHS is under and the unfair wages staff receive but there was definitely no feeling of the pressure the staff must be under. A better service could not be provided. Thank you

  2. Review titled Impressive, Professional and Caring Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary - Posted on 19 February 2024

My elderly Mum was admitted by ambulance to A&E with respiratory issues on Sunday evening. The care she received by the nurses and doctors was exceptional from the moment she arrived. Importantly, the staff liaised with me (daughter) in a professional manner at each stage of investigations/tests etc. After a long stressful day, I left A&E around 9.00pm, as my Mum had to be admitted overnight; however, I felt assured that she was being cared for by an incredible team of staff. A huge thanks to each and everyone of you.

  3. Review titled Amazing experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My birth experience at the hospital was incredible throughout. The student midwives were so friendly and stayed with me from the moment I was induced then visited me the following day in the post birth which was lovely. The team of midwives were all so supportive and made me so at ease throughout the labour and post birth. The surgeon who performed the emergency section was incredible and did an amazing, neat job and finally the care assistants who did the obs, helped me shower and to the many that came round asking if I wanted any food/ drink were so attentive. Would highly recommend this hospital for the care both during and post birth.

  4. Review titled Exceptional Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gary Hardman - Posted on 15 January 2024

I arrived quite distressed and in real discomfort following an eye injury. I was given directions to the A&E department by a member of staff wearing an NHS Lanyard. They were really helpful and it set the standard for the rest of my experience. I was greeted with professionalism and kindness. The receptionist was warm and considerate and the triage Nursing Sister was understanding and reassuring. The Locum Doctor was very personable, calming and gave clear explanations and his communication was excpetional. I needed an examination of my eye and it was done again with profressionalism and compassion. It was a relatively minor injury but I could not have been taken care of any better. I was made to feel in safe hands throughout. It was clear the staff individually and collectively skilled, confident and highly competent. As the examination, diagnosis and recommendations were concluded the Doctor, knowing I had been anxious and in some discomfort, touched my arm and in doing so just conveyed that reassaurance I perhaps needed in that moment. Exceptional. As a Nurse, a District Nurse and as someone who has held numerous Director and Chief Nursing roles over the past 20 years I could not have been cared for by more capable people. If you were judged on my experience alone I would say "Outstanding" in all Care Quality Commission Domains and I would be happy to share my views with them. Thank you for the care and personal attention I was given today. With kind regards. Gary

  5. Review titled Excellent experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I took my husband to A and E at Bassetlaw suffering from worrying acute symptoms. He was seen very quickly, given blood tests, ECG and a brain scan. The doctor was able to see all his results and offer advice and support within a very short time. We were home again (reassured) within 3 hours which seemed a very quick turnaround as we had expected a much longer wait. All the staff were pleasant and helpful and treated us both with respect. I was very impressed with the service at Bassetlaw. Well done everyone!

  8. Review titled We were seen very quickly by a doctor and medication given

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The doctor saw my husband took bloods and examined him. As he was in a lot of pain medication was given. He recommended a test by our doctor that proved positive and my husband now has medication for his condition. We are very grateful to him for such an insightful diagnosis. Without this diagnosis his condition could have returned causing him a lot of discomfort and pain.

  9. Review titled Very impressed with how well organised the whole process was

    by Cantplaypiano48 - Posted on 05 December 2023

I recently attended ward B6 for surgery as a day case. Was welcomed and prepared for my operation by a very professional and caring nurse. All paperwork completed. Was seen by surgeon and anaesthetist. Everyone introduced themselves. Felt relaxed and confident that my other health problems were being noted. Walked to theatre with the nurse who admitted me, which I appreciated. Came round from the anaesthetic and given pain relief in recovery room. Soon back to the ward. I had pain relief when needed and was very comfortable. Given a light meal and hot drink quite soon. My medication and discharge paperwork was ready by early afternoon and I was home after, with instructions about action needed if problems occurred. I had none. I am very impressed with how well organised the whole process was. Couldn’t praise the staff enough.

  10. Review titled Blown away by the calmness and professionalism of everyone

    by Chanf35 - Posted on 26 October 2023

I just want to say how phenomenal the midwifery team are, including all the anesthetists and doctors. Although I had a challenging birth I felt completely supported and cared for the whole time I was there, even though the midwives were clearly completely ran out of their feet. I will forever be grateful for what they did for me and bringing my baby safely into this world. Both my partner and I were blown away by the calmness and professionalism of everyone at Bassetlaw. I want to give my heartfelt thanks to the whole team and I can't give a special mention as they were all fantastic, including the cleaners who took the time to talk with me and reassure me it was all going to be OK even through to the after care. Will you pass the message on. Many thanks.
