Review titled Fantastic care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 October 2023
Yesterday morning after a night of excruciating pain and shortness of breath, I called an ambulance which took me to A&E at Bassetlaw Hospital. The service and care I received was fantastic. Everyone was so kind and within the seven hours I was there I had many tests, chest x-ray, CT scans and antibiotic and pain relief drips. The team did not leave any stone unturned when it came to finding out what was wrong and I felt extremely safe in their hands. All of the teams I had contact with we're professional and caring. I suffer with health anxiety and the time that was given to me by all I met was much appreciated. Thank you.

Nurse Charlotte and team were absolutely brilliant with my son. Nothing was too much of an ask, very attentive and supportive. Always explained everything perfectly and made sure we were okay.

by Sharon Godley - Posted on 26 October 2023
Staff on A4 and all involved in the care of my Grandmother on her final journey, were amazing. The transition to end of life care was done promptly and efficiently, which made this difficult time run as smooth as was possible. We were given constant support and privacy to be with our loved one at this difficult time. Thankyou to all the staff involved x

Review titled Outstanding care
by DebsW15 - Posted on 27 October 2023
Having suffered another bad asthma attack called 999 and the ambulance service was with me within minutes and quickly taken into resus. Absolutely outstanding, I just can't thank them enough for their care, they were able to avoid me going to ICU eventually, moved onto ATC to monitor me and every single one of them are angels and I will again be forever grateful after 11 days in Bassetlaw Hospital.

Would like to thank all members of staff at Bassetlaw Worksop on Wards ATC, Endoscopy and A&E for looking after me on my admission. Nothing was too much trouble day or night. They made my stay of 4 days comfortable and kept me informed of everything they were doing. Thank you, every single one of you.

Review titled Best decision I ever made
by annon36 - Posted on 07 December 2023
I am a male aged 79. I found I was quickly getting out of breath when I walked. I was told by a knowledgeable friend that I probably had a problem with my heart and should seek medical advice. After the usual difficulty in getting a doctor's appointment, I was referred to Bassetlaw Endoscopy for a scan. Having read so many horror stories about the NHS, I was not expecting much to be done. However, I was totally wrong! I found myself being monitored by the Heart Support Unit at Retford. They prescribed various pills, and kept sending me for blood checks at the Manton clinic, presumably to see how I was coping with the side effects. On more than one occasion I was contacted by phone to check that I was ok, before my dosage was increased. Then I was interviewed by the physio who spent around half an hour checking my blood pressure and pulse before and after I had done some marching up and down the room. The physio recommended that I join a gym class at Bassetlaw Hospital. That was the best decision I ever made. These classes are fantastic. Without these classes, I would have assumed that I could not do any exercise and I would basically have just sat around all day. Now I know I can and I feel really well. In addition, I look forward to the gym sessions because we have a good laugh and I can get some iced coffee at the WRVS canteen afterwards. I have just had a follow up scan at the Endoscopy unit and await the results. I can only speak from my own experience, but I found all the staff at the Heart Support Unit to be professional, but also friendly, welcoming and helpful. [Very happy with 'Team work']

Review titled Day surgery
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I am writing to thank your team for the care and consideration shown. Everyone involved with me treated me with care and respect were polite and helpful. I was continually asked if they could do anything for me help me. They kept me informed of what was happening the nursing staff were amazing the doctors were informative polite the anaesthetist was jolly and reassuring in fact as was everyone I met on the day. When I got the appointment for Bassetlaw hospital Worksop I was disappointed as being from Doncaster this would mean a much longer journey and take more arranging travel wise, I am glad that I accepted this appointment as I can honestly say that the treatment I received at Worksop was the best experience I have ever received from any NHS service

Review titled So Grateful
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mr Keith Hewitt - Posted on 09 June 2023
I attended A&E at about 6:00pm on Monday 5th June 2023 as my doctor had advised me to do. After about 5 mins I actually collapsed The blue team were buzzed by the receptionist and before I knew it they had me into resus and were on the way to sorting my issues. The Doctor in charge was first class along with his team his bedside manor was brilliant and his management must be good as his blue teams attitude reflected his style . They then went to work on my issues and within minuets I was sitting up and feeling a lot better . I want to personally thank the Doctor in charge and his Blue team again for his speed of response and his ability to put me at ease I wish I could name him but not allowed on this site Thankyou all

I couldn’t thank or recommend the team at Bassetlaw for how incredible they were throughout my gruelling 4 day labour. Every individual working on the maternity, Labour and theatre wards were incredible - supportive, friendly, experienced, warm, caring and stern (when needed to be). A wonderful team & true credit to Bassetlaw hospital. Thank you again for being so amazing to myself and husband and ensuring the safest arrival of our baby boy.
