Had a back tooth removed, brilliant, never felt a thing whilst the extraction was taking place. Can not fault anything about the staff all friendly and reassuring.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kristy - Posted on 16 March 2023
I have really bad anxiety when it comes to dentists especially. I cried out of nowhere but the assistant and surgeon were just so supportive and patient. Amazing place and people! Thank you so much, I've had no pain from the extraction.

Review titled Well organised but lacking some wheelchair waiting spaces.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Danny Sullivan - Posted on 11 March 2023
First class dental service. Appreciated. There is a distinct lack of designated wheelchair spaces in all of the waiting areas. You tend to end up next to the waste bins or the toilets. The waste bins are foot pedal operated. They need a handle fixed on the lid for access for a wheelchair user.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Staff were friendly, caring, extremely efficient and all with a smile and sense of humour. I was very anxious/panicky which they totally understood, nothing was hurried, everything was explained in great detail and future procedure booked.

Review titled fantastic service and staff.
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had a bottom wisdom tooth taken out under sedation on Tuesday21 February. I was so terrified at the thought of the procedure that i could easily have bottled it. However, the anaesthetist and the dental nurse who was doing the procedure really calmed me down. They did not try to rush me and really reassured me. They were truthful at the same time. Afterwards i felt good and relieved. Thankyou for your patience and understanding. These staff were brilliant!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been treated at the hospital for just over a year - restorative work, the facilities are first class, the staff are friendly and professional, the consultants second to none, so grateful for the fantastic service provided.

Review titled Shocked at positive reviews. Horrendous experience.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 March 2023
Had the worst experience of my adult life with a very bad tempered restorative dentist. I’m very shocked at all the positive reviews. I requested to see someone else, which I understand is something the nhs allows. It’s not even for a second opinion as this horrible man refused to discuss anything with me. He basically refused nhs care because he decided I was not cooperating with his demands. I’d previously had a three hour appointment with orthodontics where I’d gone through Pmh and 6 years history of facial pain, tmd etc. On arrival for this appt I’d gone through it again with a student. All I declined to disclose was medication I take for an unrelated condition. The condition I’d disclosed freely. Which is my choice as a patient and right to consent or not. I find some poor health professionals like to fob problems off as psychosomatic, which gives me anxiety itself. I understand if treatment is carried out consultants need to be aware for contraindications and at that time when I felt comfortable would have discussed all. On this occasion it was not needed, the purpose of the visit was for a mouth splint and discussion about potential teeth replacement options. I have dental anxiety and getting there was hard enough especially after the previous lengthy appt, let alone dealing with poor behaviour. The consultant didn’t attempt to be polite, he was very unprofessional from the start. When he couldn’t get his way used many bullying tactics including rudeness, intimidation, storming off and eventually refusing nhs treatment. I’m yet to hear anything at all in regard to seeing a different consultant. I suspect they’ve not sent the referral and are hoping I’ll leave it be. I’m also supposed to be on waiting list for the actual facial pain department sent by original ortho consultant, but again referral seems to have vanished. Luckily for me my wife recorded the whole encounter, so all can be proven. Six months have passed to allow for waiting lists, but I will now be exploring complaint procedures.
