    I've just spent two weeks in Blackpool Victoria in wards 16 & 34. The whole team in both wards are exceptional, not only doing a great job, but with real genuine care and with a positive and upbeat attitude. I cannot praise these two teams enough. Thank you all for looking after me.

    2 months after letter received stating i had been reffered Cardiology still say they know nothing about me. Got an appointment basically told you have heart problemss come back in 4 months

    Upon arrival at the UTC,from the lady on reception,to the dedicated team of professionals who treated me - I was extremely impressed with how caring the whole team were. Everything was explained to me clearly about my treatment.Even though it was after 8pm at night ( and this is usually changeover time) and their shift should have finished,they still spent time treating me ensuring all the relevant information was was disseminated to the relevant colleagues,so I could be treated the following day at the Trauma Department,Preston. I cannot thank them all at the UTC for their care and goodwill ( which the NHS) wrongly depends on. Thank you again to the dedicated Dr and team of nurses who cared for me! Sean Hoffman.

  4. Review titled department still has wrong personal information

    I have been trying for many months to get both Ophthalmology and central records to use my correct contact details - phone number contact etc. Despite trying it centrally trough main Blackpool Victoria central Data systems, and with the Ophthalmology Dept., 1) I am not getting information though about appointments, 2) Staff in Ophthalmology use different phone numbers, so with contradictory and incorrect info. I do not get appointment or other essential info. 3) Contacting Ophthalmology through Central Switchboard results in phone unanswered over 90% of the time, and 4) After many months of this, my eyes are deteriorating fast getting desperate with lack of patient care, medical care and complete inefficiency from the centre to the individual departments.

  5. Review titled Praise for the staff at Lancashire Cardiac Centre

    My previously healthy husband suffered major trauma of a sudden heart attack. The staff and services at Lancashire Cardiac Centre at Victoria hospital were wonderful. He received the fastest and best possible care and we can't thank them enough for saving his life. From the doctor who interrupted his weekend to successfully perform an angioplasty and stent, to the whole team on Coronary Care Unit.

    When we arrived at Blackpool hospital I had lots of praise for the staff we had encountered they were all very kind and accommodating. My brother was lying on the sofa in the corridor when 2 very bitter members of staff started swearing and saying if you are tired go home to bed. They didnt even as why we were there or how long we had been waiting. We had been at the hospital for over 7 hours. I found this experience very upsetting as I was already very distraught as my dad was in surgery for a triple bypass. I find this very unacceptable as staff working at hospitals should come across as kind and caring or they are definitely in the wrong job.

  7. Review titled Awful disregard to Patients

    Having been a very happy patient of max fax since 2014, I was due to have a steroid injection into my jaw for mjd in July, only to go to my appointment to be told they no longer have max fax and that the dental consultant that I saw didn’t do the injections. I was to be referred to another hospital but not until after my MRI, had that two weeks later, now been told I have another app with the same dental consultant in November nothing about referral. In the meantime I have to put up with a lot of pain in jaw and difficulty chewing.

    Pleased to say I was very impressed with the same day emergency care services at BVH when I attended recently. Thank you to all the staff working so efficiently and effectively, who were without exception pleasant, polite and thoroughly professional throughout. I felt very reassured and personally cared for, in my opinion a very important component of any patient experience. Big thanks also to the service project leads, who had the care and tenacity to furnish the patient areas with comfortable standard and extra large chairs. I know how incredibly expensive these are, and while often identified in initial planning stages don’t always make the final cut. The comfortable seat was very much appreciated when feeling so unwell. Well done everyone and thank you again for the care, compassion and expertise with which the team delivered my treatment and care.

    My parter Is for op has had 5 ops cancelled but yesterday was just terrible. We were at the hospital from 10.30am till after 5 pm he was took to be put in his gown then told they were cancelling his op after sitting there with now food or water all day.

    I wish to say a big thank you to Accident & Emergency and particularly the "Same Day Emergency Care" department. I was dealt with quickly and very efficiently. However they at all times maintained a friendly demeanor and communicated the medical situation to me in a clear and understandable way. I can appreciate that with multiple things happening it is hard to always do this, so I take my hat off to them. Everyone applauded during the pandemic, and I am still applauding! Thanks for looking after me!
