  1. Review titled Exemplary care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah Scherewode - Posted on 05 November 2024

My mother died on ward 7 on 4th November 2024. The care of both my mother and ourselves was exemplary. The love and care shared with us will not be forgotten and made a terrible time for us bearable. We cannot thank the care shown especially to mum. We do not say thank you enough for all the NHS do at times when it really counts.

  2. Review titled Superb care.

My mum had a massive stroke and died at the weekend. The team on ward 7 including the palliative care team were absolutely superb and made the whole horrible experience bearable for my sister and I as she died. They cared beautifully for my Mum and all my family. A massive thank you. You are all angels.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Arrived via ambulance at 4.10pm. At 0230am I decided to self discharge as I was informed they only had one doctor working in A&E

It was my husband admitted paramedics was fantastic , doctor was really good but some not all !! Are ignorant amd just stand chatting !! I understand they are run off there feet but when there stood chatting about where there going out at weekend ' when I already told one male nurse my husband wanted to go to the toilet .. which he couldn't go himself because he was wired up ... never came !!! To see him ..also was waiting and waiting for doc to discharge him ! Doc came said 2 mins il be back omg all he wanted was to go home .. at last he was realised 4.45 In morning .. I understand they are extremely busy but if they let people go home when they are ok to do so then all the beds wouldn't be full .. also the toilets are disgusting also the bay wasn't much better

Found the staff in ward 29 very helpful, informative and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

  6. Review titled Lack of care or empathy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 22 September 2024

I visited A&E today after displaying symptoms of an allergic reaction to medication. I had such bad chest pains struggling to breathe, which was partly due to me having a panic attack, the nurse did not try to reassure me or show any kind of empathy, she just said you will have to wait in the waiting area like everyone else. The waiting area was full and I had to stand up for over four hours. The area had sick on the floor, sick buckets and empty bottles all over the floor. Staff just walked past it all. The hygiene in the hospital is horrendous, staff not in proper uniform, sat in the assessment rooms in coats with food and drink at their desk. I’d avoid attending this A&E if you are wanting to be treated correctly.

  7. Review titled Cannot thank them enough

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I got fast tracked to gynae women’s services M2 the appointment came quicker than expected and came when we were on our way to Cornwall. Gone too far to turn back and as the appointment was almost when we got there I rang to see if we could have a weeks holiday. The lady on the phone was so lovely no problem she said and made it later so instead of having 15 days we had 10, and came back the day before the appointment. The care and concern on M2 was the same 100%. From the excellent lady consultant whom did the procedure So kind and caring to nurses whom talked me through it explained everything and gave excellent nursing care as being a retired nurse myself that is how nursing care should be. A not nice but an excellent experience due to all these people and for this I thank you greatly. I need further surgery but my fear and concerns have gone.

  8. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My 94 year old father in law was taken to BRI by ambulance after suffering severe nosebleeds for several hours. I went with him in the ambulance and from the moment we arrived he was treated promptly and with compassion. Every staff member we encountered was caring even up to the lady on A and E reception who insisted on sorting me a taxi home at 1 am. He was transferred to Ward 18 for observation and the staff there kept me up to date by phone and rang when he was on his way home so I could be there when the ambulance arrived. I’ve had several visits to Airedale hospital A and E with him over the last few years and I must say the care at Bradford was much better in every way. Thank you everyone.

  10. Review titled Poor standards

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 12 July 2024

Dirty and disgusting, from just walking in your suffocated by people smoking outside the a n e department. Waiting area over crowded with people waiting to be seen . How do they expect people who are extremely poorly to stand in the adult waiting area when there is no more chairs. Need to bring back the entrance triage like they did in Covid so patients who need to be seen urgently get the right care needed .
