  1. Review titled Thank you for A609 team on 1 of October 2024

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Please accept this expression of my sincerest thanks for all you did to help me. I was in considerable discomfort and my condition was further exacerbated by the experience of being in a hospital setting, which I have had no previous positive experiences of. I am aware that I did not always act as a model patient. However, I have a number of other issues to contend with in addition to the pain. Despite the inability to diagnose my problem, you provided invaluable assistance. I regret that I was not as cooperative as I should have been. Please accept my apologies for that. I would like to express my gratitude for your efforts. Please accept this expression of my sincerest thanks.

  2. Review titled Left after 5 hours having not been seen by a doctor...

Rated 1 star out of 5

I visited A&E after being advised by 111 to do so. I was in A&E for 5 hours and only saw a triage nurse who gave me over the counter pain relief. I appreciate that critically ill patients will be prioritised (and so they should be) however, letting people wait 5 hours before you feel the need to make an announcement about how busy and understaffed you are is unacceptable, I do feel sorry for the staff as they are stretched out way too thin. I have subsequently made an appointment with my GP and they have started the process of treating a suspected broken finger, (a week on from the A&E trip, I am still waiting for an X-ray which has been booked for sometime next week). The way the NHS is currently being run is an absolute disgrace. Something desperately needs to change as we are all paying for a service that we are simply not getting!

  3. Review titled Brilliant service.

A lady doctor became aware of my distress and within days I had my valve implant. So impressed with the efficiency, care and consideration given to me, eternally grateful, and now recovering very well back in my home with my wife, who had gone through so much in the last year. Thank you all so much.

  4. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Brought elderly mother for a skin graft wound clinic. All the members of the dermatology team were outstanding in their care towards her. They cleaned her wound and gave great advice. The only problem was the delartment was so far away from the drop off area and not enough wheelchairs.

  5. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Took my mother for a barium swallow test. The appointment was on time. The nurse and radiologist were really kind and helpful. Procedure took less than 20 mins. Only problem was parking . Mum is elderly and so I needed someone to drop us both off. Mum would not have managed to walk or find department on her own.

  6. Review titled Outstanding Service. Looked after and problem sorted.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Walked into the A&E Department this morning with what I thought was an ear infection. After a relatively short wait was seen by one of the staff nurses who was very helpful and even went off to speak with other members of staff to get more advice on treatment. Long story short I received excellent treatment (7th floor - not sure what the department is called). The gentleman on the reception desk was extremely polite and helpful, as was the doctor who eventually (with some effort) managed to remove the most stubborn ear wax I think she may have encountered all year, possibly ever. Although there was some waiting involved I have no complaints. I take my hat off to everyone working at the BRI. Outstanding service.

  7. Review titled Five Star Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lucinda Wenn - Posted on 17 June 2024

I was admitted for urgent surgery for a large, symptomatic liver cyst. The liver surgeon took me on as his patient, when I contacted his team directly, as my local hospital was ignoring my plight. I was very ill the surgeon booked me in for immediate surgery. I can’t thank him and his team enough. Even more so for allowing me a same day discharge. The whole experience was 10/10 from start to finish and saw the NHS at its very best. My nurse was amazing as were the whole team. Nothing was too much trouble and the Heygrove Theatre team are so kind, friendly and fabulous people! No one, generally, is excited about having surgery but I genuinely was. I was so poorly and upon waking up I felt well again. It was a life changing experience. Thank you again to my surgeon, his decree secretary and the Heygrove Team. You’re all incredible.

  8. Review titled Excellent care, but pharmacy wait ridiculous

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Had decent care but when needing to collect prescription from the pharmacy I waited 90 minutes. For a hospital this size that is crazy

  9. Review titled Astonishing!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Astonishing! These guys must surely be able to change water into wine. Or, in my case, bring someone back in a couple of weeks from a very dramatic head to toe dark purple rash to relative normality. Absolute geniuses - and I should add - everyone I met was utterly delightful and impressed too with their knowledge, skill and professionalism. Highly recommended.
