Review titled 6 hour wait in ED
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Zack - Posted on 20 March 2025
Waited 6 hours in ED to be treated horribly by the doctor on duty. Nurse was kind of caring but doctor didn't have the time of day to listen to my issues and made me feel like a burden

Review titled SDEC 307 Amazing care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Accompanied my brother to SDEC 307 today. Everyone we met including tge receptionist, triage nurse, doctor, radiographer and consultant were lovely. My brother had blood tests, ecg and CT scan and all the results. Was offered overnight observation and referred to out patients for further tests. And we got a free sandwich and coffee. Cannot praise the NHS highly enough. Thank you for the outstanding care. You are heroes.

What the hell is wrong with this country? All the monies me and my family have paid into this sxxt hole of a place and we get treated like second class citizens. 6 hours and still waiting in this dump. You seriously need to do something before there is anarchy in this area!

Review titled Lack of Communication
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Jean smith - Posted on 25 January 2025
Was treated quickly and efficiently on entering the Same Day Emergency Care with diagnosed bradycardia but between blood tests and all the other necessary tests and examinations, it seemed to be hours with no explanation of what was going to happen next. When I asked what I thought was a heart doctor a question about Atrial Fibrillation he said he knew little about it although previously, when showing me the Ecg chart had said I might need a pace maker! It was explained that he was not a fully qualified doctor but an Associate. Also there was no communication as to needing a drink or food and I had had nothing since breakfast at 8 am until I asked and received a sandwich early evening. When you are elderly and on your own it is worrying and the lack of, or mis-information creates great anxiety. Please ask staff to treat patients with more respect and include them in discussions, rather than leaving them feeling ignored and to guess what might be going to happen.

Review titled Amazing care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Emily Wallis - Posted on 06 December 2024
The care that my partner received today was the best we've ever had. She left feeling so much more confident and supported. The care that the staff gave her was so lovely to see - through listening to her problems, and making accommodations for her autism and fibromyalgia. Cannot recommend the respiratory department enough, thank you so much for everything you did!

Review titled Thank you for A609 team on 1 of October 2024

Please accept this expression of my sincerest thanks for all you did to help me. I was in considerable discomfort and my condition was further exacerbated by the experience of being in a hospital setting, which I have had no previous positive experiences of. I am aware that I did not always act as a model patient. However, I have a number of other issues to contend with in addition to the pain. Despite the inability to diagnose my problem, you provided invaluable assistance. I regret that I was not as cooperative as I should have been. Please accept my apologies for that. I would like to express my gratitude for your efforts. Please accept this expression of my sincerest thanks.

Review titled Left after 5 hours having not been seen by a doctor...
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2024
I visited A&E after being advised by 111 to do so. I was in A&E for 5 hours and only saw a triage nurse who gave me over the counter pain relief. I appreciate that critically ill patients will be prioritised (and so they should be) however, letting people wait 5 hours before you feel the need to make an announcement about how busy and understaffed you are is unacceptable, I do feel sorry for the staff as they are stretched out way too thin. I have subsequently made an appointment with my GP and they have started the process of treating a suspected broken finger, (a week on from the A&E trip, I am still waiting for an X-ray which has been booked for sometime next week). The way the NHS is currently being run is an absolute disgrace. Something desperately needs to change as we are all paying for a service that we are simply not getting!

A lady doctor became aware of my distress and within days I had my valve implant. So impressed with the efficiency, care and consideration given to me, eternally grateful, and now recovering very well back in my home with my wife, who had gone through so much in the last year. Thank you all so much.

Review titled Great service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sue Hopkins - Posted on 10 July 2024
Brought elderly mother for a skin graft wound clinic. All the members of the dermatology team were outstanding in their care towards her. They cleaned her wound and gave great advice. The only problem was the delartment was so far away from the drop off area and not enough wheelchairs.

Took my mother for a barium swallow test. The appointment was on time. The nurse and radiologist were really kind and helpful. Procedure took less than 20 mins. Only problem was parking . Mum is elderly and so I needed someone to drop us both off. Mum would not have managed to walk or find department on her own.
