Review titled Left feeling like I woundnt go again
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Have had an injury to my ankle which is not healing after several weeks of self home care following NHS website advice I was worried it may have been somethijg more sinister and need an xray so I went to the urgent care centre thinking this was right. The triage nurse immediately told me I didn't need an xray without really listening to what I was saying and said I should have gone to my gp. I would have been quite happy to be told to leave after triage and speak to my gp as I hadn't rsalised this was the correct route. But I was told to wait to see someone. The wait was not long. Then a second nurse rushed me into a room even though walking was tricky. She had a brief discussion with me and told me they couldnt do anything for me and I need to see my gp. She repeatedly said I had done the wrong thing by coming there and they didn't have the same referral routes as a gp. She gave me a little advice which was helpful but I left feeling completely useless when I was just seaking help in what I thought was the correct way for what is a minor injury. I was treated like I didn't have any common sense, despite the fact I work for the same trust and am a health care professional. I am still non the wiser what is wrong with my foot. I'm leaving this feedback, to explain my experience in the hope some feedback can be given to staff from it so no one else feels how I did on leaving.

Review titled Upsetting

I came to see a doctor after being sent there by the pharmacy as they couldn't help me. All I needed was some travel sickness medication that would be safe for me to use in pregnancy as I am suffering from the usual pregnancy sickness but also get travel sick and had an unavoidable 7 hour car trip to take in a couple of days. I did eventually get the medication but after having to sit and be lectured about how I shouldn't really be taking any medication during pregnancy, which made me very upset as I take medication to stop me from going blind that I can't stop and she made me feel like I was doing something wrong to my baby. This is not my first pregnancy and if she had even bothered to ask me about any of my other ailments then she would know that some travel sickness is the last thing I need on top of everything else and whilst looking after a toddler too. I got visibly upset (thanks to the hormones!) and she didn't even apologise or ask me if I was okay. Just thrust a print out at me, which I told her I didn't need as I had already read it all online that morning and again whilst she was getting the prescription. I was so upset that a stranger stopped me in the car park to check I was okay. To be told "I was sick for 40 weeks during my pregnancy" and other self riteous comments were just not needed towards a patient when they have come to you for help. Very disappointed with the way it was handled, the whole situation could have been dealt with in a much nicer manor.

Review titled Wonderful staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alice - Posted on 02 August 2024
I had an MRI scan. My care was exemplary from start to finish. I am claustrophobic and was dreading it. From the staff who dealt with my telephone enquiries to the 2 staff who undertook the scan I couldn’t have been better looked after. I didn’t believe I would be able to do it. They were patient and kind and advised me and then waited for me to be ready. When it finished I was so relieved but I want to say a huge thank you to all involved, I couldn’t have done it by myself.
