Review titled Daisy day hospital , extremely good service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

The biggest asset this unit has is the staff, from admitting to discharging the whole afternoon was a really positive experience. Friendly, everything was explained clearly, nothing was too much trouble. Their reassurance to a nervous patient was marvellous. Don’t every be afraid to have treatment at this unit

Review titled Fantastic team

I had surgery on the 17th January for the extraction of all of my wisdom teeth. I bled for sometime after and did wake with a headache so I took some paracetamol. That was the only pain relief I needed. I had very minimal swelling and zero pain the day after and was still able to go to University and study. On the 19th of January I had no swelling it had completely gone down and no pain. You wouldn't have even known I had surgery. Could not recommend this team enough to allow me to have a pain free recovery. This meant I could still sit my exam on the 19th with no pain. 100% recommend! Brilliant nurses, anesthetists, surgeons, doctors and everyone else on the team that day

Review titled Disgraceful breast cancer aftercare
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 March 2023
I had a lumpectomy on 28 November, I had to wait until 2 February for an Oncology appointment at which point I was advised that my ct scan and radiotherapy treatment would not begin until possibly mid April, after ringing back in March I was further told it would be end April, they are now not guaranteeing I will be finished my treatment by mid May. The regulated guidelines for radiotherapy treatment after breast cancer operations is 3-6 weeks, I have now been waiting 4 months and still no nearer being finished. I think it is absolutely disgraceful that cancer patients are having to wait this long. I appreciate there are people more seriously affected by cancer than me and they need sooner treatment but come on get your act together. I have to say that being diagnosed and operated on was excellent service but the aftercare stinks.

Review titled Unable to get dietary requirements on ward 14
by MichaelKn - Posted on 14 February 2023
I am on a gluten-free diet and certain members of the catering staff have been giving me foods that are not gluten-free or that contain tomatoes. I have reflux caused by a hiatus hernia and must avoid tomato based products and find that a gluten-free diet is better for the reflux. I don't always get what I ask for, having been provided with a special gluten-free protein rich diet sheet. I have special cereal which I provided myself and the caterers prefer to fob me off with the gluten variety even though I have asked them to give me what I have provided. Also, I was refused when my dad brought a ready meal in to heat up for my evening meal, saying they aren't allowed to heat things up from home brought in by visitors. What is needed is a kitchen where visitors can heat things up for loved ones who have to stay on this ward. I was left in tears as I didn't have anything to eat that night. There is one caterer who is lovely, who went out of her way to make sure I got what I wanted from a special diet sheet, who I can't fault but otherwise I was left feeling as if no one cares or is bothered about me. It's as if I am too much trouble.

Review titled Communication

December 14. ENT Castle Hill Cottingham. Appointments were delayed. A ‘1 hr delay’ was written onto a white board near reception. The delay turned out to be over two hours. It would be better practice for the receptionists (2) to come into the waiting area and tell the patients that there was a delay, perhaps every twenty minutes. Or even tell them on arrival. This would give a less stressful experience at little cost to ENT staff.
