Review titled Great reception, but the doctor was rude
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 February 2025
I went due to the flu, constant headache, body pain, and an extreme pinning sensation below my shoulder bone, all of which made me exhausted and stopped me from working at my new job. The doctor was not only rude, but also shouted at me for not doing a COVID test. I didn't have a kit, it took all my energy to even walk around or go to the hospital, and there were no open slots at my GP for two more days. The doctor talked and behaved like I was lying. He said that there was nothing on my back, until I repeated a few times that I had pain there. I tried to explain the type of pain, but he didn't listen and talked as it could be just on the skin. Doctors should be more empathetic towards people suffering, and also listen to them a bit. I left the hospital with no prescription, no tests and an increased headache and exhaustion. I took the COVID test, it was -ve, and the pain has increased now it is in the flesh, I have an appointment with my GP after a few days, hopefully it won't become worse.

Review titled Poor communication
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by yasin - Posted on 13 February 2025
recently i was called for an examination after waiting since july for expedited surgery, i questioned what would take place multiple times over the phone and via email. i turn up on the day at 7 am after travelling since 5:30 am to be told i would have a large wound to my bottom by the surgeon at around 10am. Anyone that has surgery I'm sure would plan their life accordingly but this miss communication has thrown my life in the air yet again as i now have to decide what i can manage in the coming months, i have been added to a list but not contacted as promised, this was only found out by calling and being persistent as at first i was told im not on any lists. this is as a whole very disappointing as these surgeries weigh heavy on an individual and the poor practice has resulted in wasting a lot of peoples time including the surgeons. im limited to the infomation i gave give as i cant mention names but the same issues are recuring and the hospital needs a serious review of their nursing staff, some are great and the others are quite rude, the rude ones should learn from their peers as the difference in staff is great. i will name names through pals as the first incident can be excused but the second is just insulting. if you havent had large surgeries on you bottom you shouldnt pass comment laughing and expressing that it isnt a big deal, very out of touch.

Review titled Five star service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tony - Posted on 18 June 2024
I can’t thank the staff at Central Middlesex Hospital’s Urology Department for their absolutely wonderful care and attention that they gave me. All the staff on Wednesday, June 12, from the receptionist, cleaner, cook to the consultant, anaesthetist, surgeon, nurses in recovery and those covering in Gladstone 4 ward, were all very professional and outstanding in their jobs. I bought one staff nurse a coffee, I wish I could have bought them all coffees. It was also nice to meet the matron who announced the move of Gladstone ward 4 to Gladstone 1. I never got the chance to sleep in the new ward because I was allowed to go home by Thursday afternoon. I had six stones in my bladder and the laser treatment operation for me as a 64-year-old man was quite worrying. Everybody played their part in my hospital journey from start to finish in keeping me as reassured as possible. I just hope I didn’t snore when they put me to sleep. I will never know.

During my time at Cm acad The sister on duty and her team were absolutely fantastic. Being needle phobic, all the staff made me feel comfortable and reassured during blood tests and canulation. The pain management after the surgery was top-notch, and the care for the patients was impeccable. I felt relaxed, not stressed, and safe. A huge thank you to the Sister , all the nurses, Hcas, Anaesthetist, Surgeon, porters, cleaners everyone really. I will surely recommend cm to others.

Review titled Extremely long wait more than 5hour
Rated 1 star out of 5
by MDMDS - Posted on 10 May 2024
Just visited the urgent care centre this morning for a fractured leg and the queue to get seen is just unbelievable. From my experience today I think it’s better to go to Northwick Park a&e - it’s probably the same wait but at least a competent medical professional will get you the help you need rather than be sitting in the waiting area for more than 5hours and getting moaned at by the nurse for asking once how much longer.

Review titled The Strange Case of the Disappearing PA ...
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 May 2024
Central Middlesex hospital have, in the past, been involved with my care, and I have to say, they've been second to none - professional, efficient, clinically brilliant, kind and caring. Recently, however, I have needed to contact the PA to one of the consultants regarding a re-referral, but there seems to have been a glitch in communication: I have been trying, now, for over a month, to elicit a response to a simple question regarding waiting lists, in order to make a decision on treatment, without success. I have emailed several times, and phoned half a dozen times (leaving several messages on their permanently active answerphone requesting a call back) but all to no avail. I'm beginning to wonder if the PA actually exists at all ... I know the departments are busy and overworked; but is a brief, informative response really beyond reasonable?

Review titled A First Class service on every level.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Paul Morrison - Posted on 10 October 2024
I had a full hip replacement in April of this year. The treatment I received from arrival to departure (and after departure from the Starrs Team) was First Class. I am so grateful to all of the staff members I encountered during my stay, and beyond. I have no complaints at all. Every aspect of my treatment was dealt with a prompt, courteous and professional response. Thank you.
