  1. Review titled Broken Bone

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kim Rossos - Posted on 13 November 2024

Hello, I had a great experience at the hospital yesterday. I went to imaging after my GP sent me there and had an X-ray done and they found I had broken my fibula. They walked me down to A&E and I waited 1-1.5 hours I believe and got a boot and cane to go. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Thank you! Kim

  2. Review titled Scheduling system errors

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Timothy Nuding - Posted on 18 October 2024

I arrived at an appointment today at the Plastic Surgery team at Charing Cross which I believed was a follow-up to the excision of a lesion for biopsy testing conducted on 16th September 2024. The very kind specialist told me that they had in fact scheduled me by mistake to conduct the excision that had already occured. The original 16th September appointment was also problematic in that I was telephoned the Thursday previous to the Monday appointment to schedule the appontment and given a 3pm time (confirmed by text) while the specialist team had me scheduled for 4pm. It seems that manual overrides of the appointment system are not being properly adjusted within the automated scheduling system. This has lead to stress, confusion and unnecessary time to attend an appointment (confirmed 3 times by authomated messages) which was redundant. Better IT schedule tracking and justifying needs to be implemented at Charing Cross Hospital.

I would like to extend my thanks to all the Breast Services team who I saw this morning. I arrived early for my appointment. I was seen within five minutes by a consultant followed swiftly by a mammogram and ultrasound scan. Everyone treated me with the utmost kindness. I received the outcome of the tests immediately. I was incredibly impressed and reassured by the whole experience. Thank you again.

  4. Review titled Patient Property/Missing Belongings

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    by Thomas B - Posted on 12 September 2024

I must commend the hard work by the team, however something is coming up as a pattern and there is no clear explanation for it. A relative has been there since Mid-July. Her partner has brought her some of my relatives favourite cleaning products/ shampoos/handwash and creams that went missing one day to another from the drawer in the room last month, followed by my pair of earphones without case which were left in purpose thinking i was going to be able to collect them the following day. This is the second occasion something has vanished into thin air. I cannot blame anyone but myself for leaving it there as like with a car park, they cannot take responsibility, however i’m now left with this unnerving feeling of my next visit that I have to be wary of the people surrounding my vulnerable bed ridden relative. A little disappointing as well as disconcerting just thinking about someone possibly taking advantage.. earphone cannot be used without its case so really don’t see the purpose of someone taking them other than their appealing look…

  5. Review titled High noise level

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 August 2024

I had surgery a few days ago and am very satisfied with the results. My only complaint is the noise level at the ICU created by staff, even at night on the wards, something the patient is also forced to endure in addition to the pain.

  6. Review titled Horrible experience - Extremely rude staff

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 August 2024

My experience with the staff in the reception team, some of the nurses and doctors were horrible. First, a person in the reception was constantly extremely rude with me. I was feeling so much pain and instead of being nice and polite and patient, she was extremely rude and arrogant without any reason. I have a lot to say but I think I waste my time only by writing this text. The nurse was also rude, the only thing she cared about she to get rid of me as soon as possible. I was also the one who asked her to close her office's door once I entered due to privacy reasons. I didn't want all the waiting room to listen about my health issues or personal information. Even when I asked her to close the door as she should have done without even asking her, she said to me this is just a quick assessment and she clearly was looking forward for me to leave the room. They were like they didn't take me seriously or when I was telling them that I will pass out abd I feel dizzy. The doctors the same, the wanted to get rid of me as soon as possible without properly assessing my situation. One time I ended up going back again at 4 am at the morning crying from the pain as they send me home with just a simple paracetamol. The second time I went there because still wasn't feeling well , I accepted their lack of knowledge or responsibility or rudeness and I just left after waiting for almost 3 hours. I am a Uni student in the UK and I found their behaviour and attitude completely unacceptable. I rather suffer at home alone seriously or go to another hospital.

  9. Review titled Dangerous chaos in ENT

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 May 2024

Terrible experience. After a 17 month wait for a rhinoseptoplasty I was contacted to say it was going ahead. There followed many calls where the hospital arranged the operation and then cancelled. At one point this department sent a letter telling me to turn up at 7:30am at The Renal Unit, Hammersmith Hospital, for an operation on my nose. Obviously, they cancelled that one too. I requested a particular doctor because I had seen them before in clinic. When I eventually attended for the operation, the hospital lied about the surgeon. I got an inexperienced surgeon I'd never met before and, despite all the confirmations of what operation I was having, they carried out a procedure I hadn't consented to. An extremely dangerous ENT department.
