Review titled Brilliant practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mary Ruane - Posted on 13 March 2024
I had to go to A&E yesterday 12th March . I fainted on 11th March and fell on my face. I found the doctors, nurses and reception staff so kind, understanding and gentle. They were all so wonderful. I cannot express how grateful I am. It was very busy too.

Review titled Great quality care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Paul - Posted on 17 March 2024
I came in to A&E for an urgent abscess drainage surgery. There was obviously a wait but I was seen and assessed pretty quickly initially and while waiting for a bed I was provided with food and drips and had cannulas set up etc. A bed became available within 4 hours of arriving and once I was settled I was incredibly well looked after. I stayed the night ready for my surgery first thing in the morning. I was incredibly well looked after from the second I arrived, until my discharge around 24 hours later. From the receptionist to the triage, the various nurses, consultants, surgeons to the catering staff and porters, anaesthetists, everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful and made an unpleasant experience as comfortable for me as possible and I’m extremely thankful. Surgery went well and I was discharged with a sore wound and a bag of medication to go and rest at home. I can’t think of single complaint.

Review titled Fantastic treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Laurence - Posted on 14 March 2024
I was discharged yesterday from Charing Cross hospital. I was admitted for urgent surgery a few days ago. I cannot thank enough the wonderful team on 11 south neurology, all the nurses, clinical team, the kitchen staff, the incredible surgical team, research and the other teams I encountered including all the imaging team (thanks for the great tunes during the mri) and anyone else I have forgotten. I'm sure there are stressful days but if my experience is anything to go by, you can go home after your shift and be with your loved ones and know that you have done an amazing job doing your best to help patients on their way to recovery. With very best wishes x

Review titled lack of care
Rated 3 stars out of 5

visited A & E and initial attention was fine but then transferred to next level which I think they call escalation ward. Two 'nurses' sitting behind desk, one pointed the porter in the direction of one of the many empty beds, only one other patient was visible. It was 1 a.m. on a cold night. All the lights were on so it was difficult to rest. Windows were open and although sheets were on the beds there was no bed covering. I was seen by the doctor and discharged some hours later but there was never any communication from the 'nurses' apart from an orderly taking sats.

Review titled Disrespected by Dr

Attended the Opthalmology Dept today and had severe anxiety after being kept waiting for 2 hrs eventually got to see the ophthalmologist who told me that mental health issues and anxiety issues are a 1st world issue and that the people who have anxiety watch too much television. Great to know that the NHS don't take mental health seriously left my 76yr old mother in great distress. Disgusting treatment not only for the elderly but for all mental health patients.

Review titled Poor practice- violating the care of duty
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Foteini Stavropoulou - Posted on 22 February 2024
According to my most recent diagnosis, my pain turned out to be chronic and severe - although I have been under the care of the pain clinic since 2019- however they just prescribed a lot of pain relief medication- with side affects- and without advising on CBT despite my request and discharge me without having my pain under control. I suspect that they serve an agenda of a elderly therapist and when I told them they stopped replying to any my emails confirming that I was correct about everything

Review titled Confusion
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Following two abnormal ECGs at St. Mary's A & E on 2nd Oct 2023 my results were referred to Cardiology at Hammersmith who advised me to have an Echocardiogram and 24 hr holter. I had an Echo and holter am on 26th Oct 2023 at Charing Cross. Nobody was able to give me any information as to when my results would be available and to whom they would be sent - myself/GP? A technician asked for GP details, which I thought odd as I have been an Imperial/St. Mary's patient for over four years. These results are very important, especially as I'm hoping for surgery in near future.

Review titled Saved me great amount of travel time and frustration
by Tincatinca - Posted on 10 November 2023
I had a prescription from Charing Cross Urology which to save me a long journey, the doctor, although unsure if it would work, phoned me to see if I could get it anywhere closer to home. We agreed on a pharmacy to try, so the doctor sent that and it seemed to work. All I had to do was to collect from there. On arriving at the pharmacy, without any paperwork for the prescription I explained what had happened to the member of staff on the inward desk ,which raised the eyebrows. However, taking my details they passed them to the pharmacist for a check, as they were unable to find me on the system. After a short wait a pharmacist came forward to ask for more detail. Then after a further wait, again short, the pharmacist advised that they had found the prescription and it would be with me shortly. I cannot thank them enough as this was for treatment of a UTI a few days before my stone operation and saved me great amount of travel time and frustration. What great service.

Review titled Kind staff at hip X-ray
by rw52sept23 - Posted on 22 September 2023
I don't have a smart phone but I was asked to go to a link about my hip x-ray in Charing Cross. I was treated wonderfully. The nurses were very kind and made me feel very comfortable even giving me a double gown. I normally hate hospitals but this gave me a really calm feeling. Thank them for me.

Review titled Great care in Breast services One stop clinic
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lou - Posted on 18 August 2023
I went to have an unusual lump in my breast examined after my GP referred me. The One stop clinic was fairly busy but I was seen promptly by the Consulting Dr and her team who explained to process to me. I then had a mammogram with a radiographer and an ultrasound scan with the surgeon. All of the staff who were involved were very professional and helpful and answered my questions clearly. Fortunately the lump was not suspicious and I was discharged the same day. I was impressed by the speed of service and the reassurance which I received from all of the staff involved and would recommend this service to others.
