Review titled Wonderful staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah S - Posted on 21 August 2023
I attended for a vascular procedure and am very thankful to all the team who looked after me. The surgeon, nursing staff and vascular scientist all explained everything so well and ensured I was comfortable throughout. The secretary was also very helpful in the days leading up. A fantastic NHS service.

Review titled 6th Floor Fantastic
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Carole Stuart-Mc Ivor - Posted on 03 August 2023
Dear friend admitted to North Ward f oncology. The staff were fantastic; professional patient skilled compassionate & a collective sense of humour. Huge respect. How they keep their temper when patients are incredibly rude & demanding I don’t know. Consultant, doctors, nurses, cleaners, auxiliaries, everyone contributed to gentling what is, by definition, an extremely stressful situation. Thank you all.

Review titled The pharmacy at Charing Cross is abysmal
Rated 2 stars out of 5

So poorly run and planned that scheduled cancer patient day in and day out have lengthy waits for their medication - it’s a known problem with seemingly no solution. Those running this pharmacy should be acutely ashamed of themselves.

Review titled I really don't know how to get hold of this department
by Fradk68 - Posted on 25 May 2023
I have been waiting to talk to someone from the musculoskeletal department for the last few years now. I had been referred from my GP to this hospital few years ago. They gave me appointment 8 months later to talk to me at specific time but they never actually call me and send me automated message stating that I missed appointment and reschedule it for next 7 months later. Second time same thing happened. Last year I have been waiting literally near my phone and they did same again. I immediately called reception and only thing they did is apologise and reschedule my appointment for another 8 months later. Having already had a terrible experience of this department, I called the hospital a day before my appointment to make sure someone will call me at specific time of appointment, which was at 11 am. Because of my job it was difficult for me to have appointment at that time, however I had already made arrangement to keep myself free. Nobody called me until 12:15, I missed the call as it was too late for me to receive the call as I was back at work at that time. I really don't know how to get hold of this department while I am suffering.

Review titled A huge thank you to everyone for giving me my life back
by earmarktt48 - Posted on 12 May 2023
I arrived early for my appointment this afternoon and was seen early by the doctor and members of the dietitian and SLT teams. Today I was given the result of a recent biopsy, which was excellent news. I was given an additional quick examination and the team listened to my progress report. They gave me an outline of how my health will be monitored in the future and were extremely encouraging as always. The whole department, together with oncologists and radiologists, have always been tremendously supportive over the last eleven months of my diagnosis and treatment. I could not be more grateful for their professionalism, skill and kindness. A huge thank you to everyone for giving me my life back.

Review titled Thank you for the excellent service received
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Luiza Russell - Posted on 19 April 2023
Had my routine breast screening on a Sunday late afternoon. I cannot praise enough the lovely staff for looking after my wellbeing and working hard on a Sunday late afternoon probably to clear the backlog. The nurse/radiographer was very polite and helpful from the moment of my arrival and during the procedure and she proved to be very calm and professional working under pressure due to some hiccups on the management/appointments department side. Excellent service Excellent way to deal with the pressure. Big thank you to the whole team and NHS

Review titled No contcat at all!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Margaret Ellis - Posted on 17 April 2023
Your Website does not give any details of how to contact the Occupational Therapy Department. Your published Telephone Number for the Charing Cross Hospital has such poor Voice Recognition even after five attempts to get through to the OT Department, nothing worked. I was diverted to some strange queue which did not lead anywhere. I am a long standing and highly experienced Professional and am just horrified that you people are being paid by us for this none service!

I cannot praise the staff enough for my treatment. The patience skill and care that I received whilst they were under obvious stress and overwork in a completely full area is incredibly admirable

Review titled Great surgical team
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Trish - Posted on 19 February 2023
Wanted to leave a shout out to every member of the fantastic Ophthalmology surgical and nursing team who all looked after me so well yesterday when I had my eye surgery. I had been very anxious especially after some appointments and conversations with other staff in the lead up had led me to feel patronised and my concerns dismissed rather than addressed, but everyone yesterday was amazing and had a truly patient-centred approach and an obvious dedication to getting things right. Yesterday I met teams of people who seem to love and take pride in their work. No praise is too high and no Thank You is enough. With their immense patience and empathy, they got me through things I've found really difficult/impossible before. Wish I could personally fund every single one of them I met yesterday a pay rise, from nurse to anaesthetist to surgeon. Also... my sight is brilliant. I can't leave identifying details but truly hope you see this and recognise yourselves.
