  1. Review titled Confusion

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 October 2023

Following two abnormal ECGs at St. Mary's A & E on 2nd Oct 2023 my results were referred to Cardiology at Hammersmith who advised me to have an Echocardiogram and 24 hr holter. I had an Echo and holter am on 26th Oct 2023 at Charing Cross. Nobody was able to give me any information as to when my results would be available and to whom they would be sent - myself/GP? A technician asked for GP details, which I thought odd as I have been an Imperial/St. Mary's patient for over four years. These results are very important, especially as I'm hoping for surgery in near future.

  2. Review titled Saved me great amount of travel time and frustration

by Tincatinca - Posted on 10 November 2023

I had a prescription from Charing Cross Urology which to save me a long journey, the doctor, although unsure if it would work, phoned me to see if I could get it anywhere closer to home. We agreed on a pharmacy to try, so the doctor sent that and it seemed to work. All I had to do was to collect from there. On arriving at the pharmacy, without any paperwork for the prescription I explained what had happened to the member of staff on the inward desk ,which raised the eyebrows. However, taking my details they passed them to the pharmacist for a check, as they were unable to find me on the system. After a short wait a pharmacist came forward to ask for more detail. Then after a further wait, again short, the pharmacist advised that they had found the prescription and it would be with me shortly. I cannot thank them enough as this was for treatment of a UTI a few days before my stone operation and saved me great amount of travel time and frustration. What great service.

  3. Review titled Kind staff at hip X-ray

    by rw52sept23 - Posted on 22 September 2023

I don't have a smart phone but I was asked to go to a link about my hip x-ray in Charing Cross. I was treated wonderfully. The nurses were very kind and made me feel very comfortable even giving me a double gown. I normally hate hospitals but this gave me a really calm feeling. Thank them for me.

  4. Review titled Great care in Breast services One stop clinic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lou - Posted on 18 August 2023

I went to have an unusual lump in my breast examined after my GP referred me. The One stop clinic was fairly busy but I was seen promptly by the Consulting Dr and her team who explained to process to me. I then had a mammogram with a radiographer and an ultrasound scan with the surgeon. All of the staff who were involved were very professional and helpful and answered my questions clearly. Fortunately the lump was not suspicious and I was discharged the same day. I was impressed by the speed of service and the reassurance which I received from all of the staff involved and would recommend this service to others.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Sarah S - Posted on 21 August 2023

I attended for a vascular procedure and am very thankful to all the team who looked after me. The surgeon, nursing staff and vascular scientist all explained everything so well and ensured I was comfortable throughout. The secretary was also very helpful in the days leading up. A fantastic NHS service.

  7. Review titled 6th Floor Fantastic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carole Stuart-Mc Ivor - Posted on 03 August 2023

Dear friend admitted to North Ward f oncology. The staff were fantastic; professional patient skilled compassionate & a collective sense of humour. Huge respect. How they keep their temper when patients are incredibly rude & demanding I don’t know. Consultant, doctors, nurses, cleaners, auxiliaries, everyone contributed to gentling what is, by definition, an extremely stressful situation. Thank you all.

  8. Review titled The pharmacy at Charing Cross is abysmal

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 June 2023

So poorly run and planned that scheduled cancer patient day in and day out have lengthy waits for their medication - it’s a known problem with seemingly no solution. Those running this pharmacy should be acutely ashamed of themselves.

  9. Review titled I really don't know how to get hold of this department

    by Fradk68 - Posted on 25 May 2023

I have been waiting to talk to someone from the musculoskeletal department for the last few years now. I had been referred from my GP to this hospital few years ago. They gave me appointment 8 months later to talk to me at specific time but they never actually call me and send me automated message stating that I missed appointment and reschedule it for next 7 months later. Second time same thing happened. Last year I have been waiting literally near my phone and they did same again. I immediately called reception and only thing they did is apologise and reschedule my appointment for another 8 months later. Having already had a terrible experience of this department, I called the hospital a day before my appointment to make sure someone will call me at specific time of appointment, which was at 11 am. Because of my job it was difficult for me to have appointment at that time, however I had already made arrangement to keep myself free. Nobody called me until 12:15, I missed the call as it was too late for me to receive the call as I was back at work at that time. I really don't know how to get hold of this department while I am suffering.

  10. Review titled A huge thank you to everyone for giving me my life back

    by earmarktt48 - Posted on 12 May 2023

I arrived early for my appointment this afternoon and was seen early by the doctor and members of the dietitian and SLT teams. Today I was given the result of a recent biopsy, which was excellent news. I was given an additional quick examination and the team listened to my progress report. They gave me an outline of how my health will be monitored in the future and were extremely encouraging as always. The whole department, together with oncologists and radiologists, have always been tremendously supportive over the last eleven months of my diagnosis and treatment. I could not be more grateful for their professionalism, skill and kindness. A huge thank you to everyone for giving me my life back.
