  2. Review titled Appalling reception staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was told by my GP practice that the blood service had returned to a walk-in service so I turned up today with my paperwork. I discovered that I was in the wrong place having been informed by an abrasive receptionist that I'd need to speak to the blood service team about the GP paperwork and was redirected to urgent care. When I arrived at urgent care, I was again met with inappropriate hostility and told that I should have booked an appointment - clearly my fault for following the GP receptionist instructions. The communication between GP and hospital service needs to be significantly improved - both are blaming each other - and in the middle of it all is a frustrated patient who has wasted half the morning trying to find some answers and still no blood test. I will not be going back. I can understand that communcation can break down - what I cannot accept is the hostility towards a patient, trying to access care they are entitled to have and zero attempt to help.

  3. Review titled Reassuring, patient and caring.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Each time I have been admitted onto the Rawcliffe ward up until the moment I leave, everyone I have met/meet are so friendly and welcoming. Today was no exception. The consultants; the anaesthetists and all the way up to (especially) the reception staff and nurses at all levels were fantastic because you all: 1. smiled and greeted me carefully/kindly when I arrived so nervous and worrying inwardly. 2. everything was explained at every level. 3. time and patience were given at all times before and after my procedure and every question was answered. (I'd have loved to help make the (wipeable) Christmas Decs!)!!! Take care to you all, Thank you x

  4. Review titled Brilliant service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Peter Benson - Posted on 14 October 2022

I visited A&E today after experiencing chest pain and I wanted to mention what a superb job the team there is doing despite the significant pressures they’re under. I was there from around 11:00 to 16:00 but in that time I had an ECG scan, blood tests and an X-ray and I was diagnosed by the doctor who was very open, personable and explained my issue clearly. I am full of admiration and respect for all the doctors and nurses in Chorley’s A&E who deliver an excellent service considering the significant volume of patients they have to deal with each day.

  5. Review titled Odd Man Out

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having had problems with my left breast for a few weeks I was recommended to go to this Breast Clinic. From signing in, to a very detailed and thorough examination; to ultrasound scan and diagnosis I was very well treated; and did not feel embarrassed as a male. I have gynaecomastia - very common in older males, a benign condition. A leaflet given for details and possible follow-up. Thank you. All staff were kind and received me sympathetically.

  6. Review titled Signage

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Kay Clarke - Posted on 08 September 2022

Took relative to Rawcliffe ward for day surgery. The lack of signage was very concerning. Access to the ward was via the entrance to Duxbury and Worden wards. There were no signs visible from the perimeter Road. Luckily I had a site map and was mobile enough to get out the car and walk round in the vicinity as the signs were hidden behind a wooden structure. I have no complaints about my relatives care buy had he and his partner been on their own they didn't have the mobility to have found the ward.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary - Posted on 15 September 2022

I attended the urgent care service today and yesterday and was extremely pleased with the care I received. I had burnt my hand and everybody was very helpful and I was well looked after. I was ready to wait some time as the waiting area was busy but I was seen much quicker than expected.

Needed emergency antibiotics for an insect bite. Couldn't believe how quick and straightforward it was - once I'd found the way in - not obvious from the car park!
