Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended Chorley Breast Clinic yesterday. I was given a manual examination, mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. The staff were all very professional, whilst showing warmth and kindness. Excellent service. Thank you.

  2. Review titled Surprise Visit Chorley Medical Assessment Centre.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by JJM - Posted on 24 August 2022

It was a surprise to find myself in Chorley Medical Assessment Unit after a visit to our locum doctor who thought my breathlessness should be checked over. After a battery of tests it was shown that my heart was not pumping properly and I was retaining body water. During my time on Medical Assessment (and on Hazelwood) I was very well cared for by all staff. The food was good and we all coped with the extreme heat during those 5 days. After many tests I was allowed home with some changes in my daily tablets. I had also lost 9 pounds in weight - can't be bad! Water gone! An unexpected stay, but I had improved considerably.

  3. Review titled Appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am utterly appalled to find that having reduced the hours of service that Chorley A and E will now also not treat anyone under the age of 18. Instead we had to wait many hours in Preston which was overwhelmed.

  4. Review titled Awful structure

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 August 2022

The staff had no knowledge of who came in at what time and who was due to be seen. Waiting for a midwife appointment for an hour and a half. People were coming in way after others and getting seen first. Staff bickering about the organisation

  5. Review titled CT scan side effects

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Meg Davies - Posted on 06 July 2022

Yesterday I had a scan. I was seen exactly on time by staff who were kind, gentle and efficient. 10/10 for the nurse who put in the canula totally painlessly. On my way home I began to feel faint and cold; had I been driving there would have been an accident. I wasn't asked to wait at the hospital for 1 hour, as some websites recommend. When I reached home,I lay on the sofa wrapped in a duvet and thick blanket, wearing thick woolly coat for some hours, and still felt cold. It was a scary experience. I assume it was a reaction to the contrast medium.

  6. Review titled Wonderful department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lucy - Posted on 15 July 2022

I have to have an annual skin cancer check, I have had this at a hospital closer to my home but they discharged me after the first one (?) Chorley Dermatology were absolutely amazing. I arrived on time and barely had chance to sit in the waiting room before I was called in. I was pleased to see that the waiting room was well ventilated as I am clinically extremely vulnerable to Covid and this was my first face to face appointment. Also pleased to see masks were required. The nurse was lovely and friendly and soon sorted me with a gown. The doctor gave me a full and thorough examination and put my fears to rest. She had a wonderful calm demeanour and gave me details of a leaflet to look for and education around skin cancer. I was in and out in under half an hour so didn’t need to pay for the car park, but I’d say I spent at least 25 minutes of that with the staff. I am so grateful. Before I even got home I had a text with an appointment for next year - absolutely amazing department and I am so impressed, thank you!
