Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Teresa - Posted on 24 January 2024

I went in to have a suspect growth in my right eyelid, the consultant and his team were fabulous, they made me feel safe, they were kind as my pulse started the machines off, couldn’t fault anything about my experience. Well done all

  4. Review titled Incorrect information

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 December 2023

Attended an and e with an eye problem. Asked if it was worth me waiting or should I return to the eye unit in the morning. Several different members of nursing and reception staff said to wait. Waited 8 hours. Saw a very nice doctor who was very apologetic but said that I had been wrongly guided, that he could not treat me and I should return to eye unit next day. Complete waste of my time, nhs time and busy hospital waiting room space.

  5. Review titled Lovely staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lynne - Posted on 20 December 2023

Thank you to all the staff today 20/12/2023. I took my 81 year old mom to A&E with some worrying symptoms, as I couldn't get a GP appointment. Something I didn't want to do as I know how busy it can be and also with the Doctors strike. We were all done in 2 hours and that was with a blood test and a ECG. All was well and due to the strike, My mom was seen by a lovely consultant. He was such a Gentleman and so kind to her. Thank you again to all the staff on this shift ( day time) you are all angles.

  6. Review titled Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 February 2024

Having been referred by my GP for elbow trauma I have had 5 or 6 appointments cancelled by the trauma and orthopaedic department without any reason given. Extremely frustrated and disappointed at my appointments persistently being cancelled as I am in a lot of pain and losing the use of my arm. Very poor service with no reasons given

  7. Review titled Awful

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 November 2023

I waited in a&e after being inappropriately triaged when I called 999 and said I am on my way after a head trauma. The consultant was grumpy and could not care at all. I was tired and it stunk so badly especially the toilets. The staff especially reception need to be adequately trained. The consultant wrote false clinical notes and did not do the measurements she claimed to do.

  8. Review titled Fetal Medicine

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jody Bradnick - Posted on 18 January 2024

The fetal medicine team looked after me during my pregnancy. It was a very emotional time, but I was always treated with consideration and respect. My consultant and midwife went above and beyond and I was so glad to share the experience with them. I will forever be grateful for them both. They made what was such a difficult experience for me, a lot easier. I will never forget them.

  9. Review titled Wonderful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by C Harper - Posted on 16 September 2023

I was in for what could have been an end of life experience. The staff here looked after me, treated me, and got me better. During which, they've been wonderful, helped me understand what was happening, what's next for me, and we've also had plenty laughs. All in all they've made my stay fly by, and I really appreciate everything they've done and the way I (and every other patient) have been treated. I also want to express how friendly the staff on Amu1/discharge lounge, they also were so nice and friendly during my short time with them. And finally to the nurse that helped my husband find the discharge lounge, whilst on her own way through the hospital. I can't praise up the hospital staff as a whole enough. Thank you so much

  10. Review titled Should be closed down!!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 August 2023

I waited 10 hours in a&e which is disgusting and atrocious as a sick patient to be waiting. This hospital should be closed down immediately I am absolutely upset with the staff that work here for them to be grumpy and not care at all. My mother who was tired was told to get up as she wasn’t allowed to lie down after been waiting for 10 hours. Someone needs to do something about this as evryone around me was frustrated and irritated with being here overnight til the morning. The heating was on high to the point people were sweating and it just stunk.

Dear anonymous, I am sorry you had a bad experience when visiting our A&E department. All patients are assessed when they arrive at the department and are seen according to their clinical need. I apologise for the longer than usual wait you experienced and I have highlighted this along with your comments about the attitude of staff and the heating to the manager of the unit. Kind regards, Richard Beeken, Chief Executive.
